The Trump, Musk, and DOGE-deranged media, consumed with their efforts to undermine government accountability and reform as voted upon by the American people, have completely omitted from viewer consideration a critically important development across our southern border: the CIA’s no-longer-secret drone flights over Mexican cartel laboratories.
Here’s how Univision’s report on the matter opened (click “expand” to view transcript):
ILIA CALDERON: The CIA has expanded its secret drone flights over Mexican territory to combat the flow of drugs. This has been reported by CNN and by The New York Times. This is the first time that the existence of this program has been revealed in Mexico. Sarai Méndez has the reactions.
SARAI MÉNDEZ: The president of Mexico Claudia Shenbaum downplayed the alleged overflights made in Mexican territory by CIA drones.
REPORTER: Regarding the CIA drones that are flying over Mexican airspace…
CLAUDIA SHEINBAUM: That’s also part of this little campaign…
MÉNDEZ: According to CNN and The New York Times, The United States has intensified secret drone flights over Mexico in order to detect fentanyl laboratories, as part of the new Trump administration’s campaign against Mexican drug cartels.
President Trump today was asked about this program.
REPORTER: What can you tell us about the CIA drone flights over Mexico? Is this the next step in the war against the cartels?
DONALD TRUMP: Well, we’re going to see. (VIDEO SWIPE) I think Mexico’s largely run by the cartels and that’s a sad thing to say. If they wanted help with that, we’d give them help.
ABC, CBS, and NBC were simply too overwhelmed by important breaking stories, therefore unable to devote air time to these critical developments. At ABC, there was the national security matter of the break-in of Nicole Kidman’s home. CBS spent their time quibbling over the word “fraud”, and NBC prioritized flying cars. A more attentive Trump-deranged media would’ve made hay out of Mexican President Sheinbaum’s snarky dismissal of the drone overflights as part of Trump’s “little campaign”, along with the tariff threats and potential designation of the cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations:

With border crossings dramatically down and ICE arrests not only going unimpeded but popular among the American public, it appears that the media have taken their eye off our southern neighbor for the time being. But it is important to note, as CNN reported and Univision echoed, that those Reaper drones overflying cartel installations are unarmed…for now.
Exit question: did you know that U.S. Special Forces are on the ground in Mexico, on a training mission?

MÉNDEZ: According to The New York Times, the CIA is sharing the information that the drones collect on their flights with Mexican authorities.
DAVID SAUCEDO: Mexico’s collaboration scheme with the United States is limited solely to collecting intelligence information, but this has been done for a long time with satellites, with probe balloons, with airplanes.
MÉNDEZ: According to CNN, these are unarmed MQ-9 Reaper drones that are used by the United States to fight terrorist organizations in countries such as Syria, Iraq and Somalia.
GUILLERMO VALDÉS: What they are trying to do is identify, I suppose, the organizations and the members of the organizations that do this. It is a matter of defining what is the best strategy to try to contain the problem.
MÉNDEZ: (President Sheinbaum) claims to have taken measures to fight fentanyl trafficking, such as deploying 10,000 soldiers to the country’s northern border in order to avoid the imposition of tariffs. From Mexico City, Sarai Méndez, TelevisaUnivision.
