Zohran Mamdani, the newly elected leader of America’s largest city, has been sworn in.

Twice, actually.

Once in an underground “private” ceremony at the stroke of midnight, and again in a very public anti-American ceremony led by another avowed socialist politician.

And when I say it was anti-American, just wait.

You may not be entirely shocked — though dismayed, as I am — that he took the oath of office on a Quran.

But if the fact that a Muslim socialist just attained to the top leadership position of America’s largest city (by far) wasn’t alarming enough…

I almost hate to bring you the details of his swearing in ceremony, much less what he said afterwards.

I think I’ll actually start there, with his own words following his second oath of office — just get it out of the way.

Before we go back to the underground midnight ceremony.

This should properly flavor this story with the realistic un-American agenda that Mamdani now brings to the table as the Mayor of New York City.

We’ll start with what he said on his first day in office, as shared on X by Benny Johnson:

Yes, he really said that.

No… that’s not an AI-generated fake.

The Muslim Mayor of New York just swore to replace American rugged individualism… with the “warmth of collectivism”.

I don’t even know how to combat that with reason, at this point.  Obviously… reason has not worked, because he just got elected saying stuff like that!

And we might as well throw this into the mix as part of the introduction, just so we’re clear HOW UN-AMERICAN this guy really is.

Do you notice anything missing from his more public, second ceremony, held later in the day?:

I guess Old Glory is just a little too “rugged” and “individualistic” for Mamdani and his socialist cohorts.

Not a single American flag to be seen.

So it really shouldn’t shock us that the man behind all that… would take his oath of office on a Quran, as reported by Breitbart:

Socialist Zohran Mamdani became mayor of New York City just after midnight Thursday, taking the oath of office as he placed his hand on the Islamic Quran in a private ceremony.

In doing so Mamdani, a Democrat, was confirmed as the first Muslim leader of America’s biggest city.

“This is truly the honor and the privilege of a lifetime,” the 34-year-old said in a brief speech, AP reports.

The strictly invitation-only gathering, overseen by New York Attorney General Letitia James, a political ally, took place at the old City Hall station, one of the city’s original subway stops known for its stunning arched ceilings.

Mamdani’s wife, the artist Rama Duwaji, held out the Quran over which Mamdani took his oath of office.

And who else would you possibly get to swear in the first Muslim socialist Mayor of New York City… other than the Trump-hating Letitia James?

If I saw it in a movie, I wouldn’t believe it.

But here it is in all it’s ungodly truth, held strangely in a decrepit portion of the underground bowels of the city, presided over by Letitia James:

Here’s a look at the smaller of the two Qurans he used for the “underground” swearing in, estimated to be around 200-300 years old:

For someone who talked so much about economic issues during his campaign, he certainly leaned heavily on the Muslim vote.

In fact, his “base of support” was primarily immigrants from predominantly Muslim nations, as highlighted — but treated almost like a virtue — in this Associated Press report:

Incoming Mayor Zohran Mamdani took his midnight oath of office on a centuries-old Quran, marking the first time a mayor of New York City uses Islam’s holy text to be sworn in and underscoring a series of historic firsts for the city.

The 34-year-old Democrat became mayor in a long-closed subway station beneath City Hall, the first Muslim, first South Asian and first African-born person to hold that position.

Most of Mamdani’s predecessors were sworn in on a Bible, although the oath to uphold the federal, state and city constitutions does not require the use of any religious text.

And while he has focused heavily on the issue of affordability during his campaign, Mamdani was outspoken about his Muslim faith. He frequently appeared at mosques across the five boroughs as he built a base of support that included many first-time South Asian and Muslim voters.

Two Qurans were to be used during the subway ceremony: his grandfather’s Quran and a pocket-sized version that dates back to the late 18th or early 19th century.

For a subsequent swearing-in ceremony at City Hall on the first day of the year, Mamdani will use both his grandfather’s and grandmother’s Qurans. The campaign hasn’t offered more details on those heirlooms. (Emphasis added.)

As for that prominent socialist politician I referenced earlier, you probably know from the previous story who I meant.

Good old Uncle Bernie did the honors for today’s more public ceremony.

The man that Mamdani said he “most wants to emulate”:

I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that Mamdani also pulled off a genuine “Nazi salute” at the conclusion of his swearing in with Bernie:

Though I have to admit — it’s technically only a “Nazi” salute when a Trump supporter is accused of doing it.

The PROPER term for Mamdani might be a “Socialist” salute?  (For those who didn’t catch it, yes… that’s my dripping sarcasm taking over.)

All in all, things aren’t looking good for the Big Apple.

And frankly, I don’t know what to tell the good people who find themselves living in that city in 2026.

Maybe… run?

Generally speaking I don’t ascribe to the “run and hide” mentality — I’m from Texas, by the way.

But at least for the time being a solid argument could be made that New York has fallen.

Never forget…?

Unfortunately, I think they forgot.

Hopefully the “finding out” part won’t be worst-case-scenario.
