Unconfirmed Reports Link Christmas Eve Explosion in Venezuela to U.S. Strike

An explosion and fire were reported in the early hours of December 24, 2025, in an industrial zone near a port in Venezuela’s Zulia state, coinciding with the timeframe President Trump referenced for a U.S. operation against an alleged drug-loading facility.

While not independently verified as a military strike, circulating videos and local reports described a significant blast and flames in the San Francisco municipality. A chemical company in the area attributed the incident to a warehouse fire and rejected speculation tying it to external actions.

Zulia is a well-established transit hub for cocaine originating in Colombia, with maritime routes frequently used to ship drugs toward the Caribbean and beyond. No official confirmation from U.S. or Venezuelan authorities has linked the incident directly to the president’s claims.

President Trump confirmed the attacks this morning during a press conference with Israeli PM Netanyahu:
