What a day.  The public breakdown of the relationship between President Trump and Elon Musk is currently FLARING WILDLY on social media.

And Elon Musk just dropped what he’s calling a “really big bomb”.

He just claimed that President Trump is the real reason the Epstein files are STILL being held back from the American people.

Because, he says, President Trump is implicated in those files.

That is possibly the most unexpected accusation I ever thought I would hear come out of Elon Musk.

And honestly, my head is spinning right now trying to make sense out of what is going on.

Is this just the emotional blowup on the part of some seriously hard-charging individuals wired for conquering and doing big things???

Or could there, possibly, be some truth to Elon’s accusation?

One thing is for sure — whether this is a case of “kayfabe”, as one of my colleagues on the writing team pointed out (shout out to M Winger!):

Or — whether this is a truly emotional breakup of the Trump/Musk ‘bromance’…

This day will certainly go down in internet infamy.

As expected, many are taking sides on the internet, and it’s not pretty.

Very few — Dinesh D’Souza, for one — are taking the high road early on, arguing for restraint as this explosive and sudden feud erupts.

This has the potential to complete rip the MAGA movement and the larger pro-Trump alliance within the Republican Party to complete shreds.

D’Souza actually highlighted President Trump’s own restraint, shown in this post:

Others, including James O’keefe and Jack Posobiec, are focusing on the accusation itself.

They argue that if there was any merit to such a damning accusation, it would have come out years ago.

Likewise, Posobiec is pointing to all the unnecessary trouble the Deep State went to in order to create a hoax to hang around President Trump’s neck.

If he could have been implicated in the Epstein files… wouldn’t he have already been?:

Laura Loomer is chiming in with the temperature on the Hill.

She is claiming that lawmakers are essentially freaking out, with some wondering which way the political wind is about to blow on this:

I know law makers who are asking if they should side with President Trump or Elon.

I’ve been on the hill all day and it’s all anyone is talking about.

The most powerful man in the world vs the richest man in the world.

And all of this started over a disagreement about the ‘Big Beautiful Bill, as far as I can tell — as reported by Newsweek:

Elon Musk has dropped what he referred to as “the really big bomb” in his rapidly escalating feud with President Donald Trump.

As the former allies sling mud at each other in the public arena, Musk has made the allegation that Trump “is in the Epstein files.”

The increasingly personal feud escalated earlier in the week after Musk, who contributed more than $200 million to Trump’s presidential campaign, publicly criticized the administration-backed “One Big Beautiful Bill.” The proposed legislation aims to extend tax cuts, overhaul immigration enforcement, and repeal consumer incentives for electric vehicles.

Musk condemned the bill as a “disgusting abomination,” arguing that it would add trillions to the federal debt.

Trump posted Thursday afternoon that “the easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts.” In a follow-up, he said he took away Musk’s electric vehicle mandate and claimed, “he just went CRAZY!”

Meanwhile… I can only imagine this is completely accurate video footage of every liberal online right now:

But some are calling for not only restraint… but an apology.

The accusation that Elon Musk just made concerning President Trump BETTER BE TRUE — ultimately resulting in proof, and CONSEQUENCES — or else Elon Musk could be in for some very serious legal trouble.

Slander and liable are NOT SMALL ISSUES.

Or… as some are suggesting, he should calm himself down, and apologize.

And some of those calls for apologies have come with a dose of Elon’s own medicine:

There will be a lot of fighting and attacks in the days to come, so I just want to say something at the outset.

We should never forget how terrible the environment was online prior to October 2022. No matter what happens, I am grateful that Elon Musk bought X and liberated free speech in America. His contribution to America and to civilization from that alone is immense.

There is the chance that Elon’s assertion is true, as much as it pains me to even imagine that to be the case.

It is possible that his closeness to President Trump and his work has allowed him to somehow find out details that the rest of us don’t know, and that we are watching the beginning of one of the greatest political falls in American history.

I sincerely hope not.

I don’t think that’s what this is; it seems more like the emotional outburst of a relationship on the rocks.

And everyone at the end of the day will be sorry for how they acted towards the other party.

But there has been a serious delay, going against President Trump’s promises, in releasing those Epstein files… as has been reported by The Independent:

Elon Musk has claimed that President Donald Trump “is in the Epstein files” and that’s “the real reason” they have not been released in his latest public attack.

He followed up shortly after: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

The president and the billionaire are currently trading blows on social media in a very public breakdown of their relationship. The barbs came after Musk’s departure as a special advisor to the government, and his brief time running the Department of Government Efficiency.

“Elon was ‘wearing thin,’ I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!“ the president wrote before Musk dropped the claim about the Epstein files.

The delay in releasing the Epstein files has infuriated MAGA.

Attorney General Pam Bondi released the “first phase” of declassified files on February 27 related to the late sex offender. She invited MAGA online personalities to the White House to see the files for themselves, but the binders contained information that had already been released to the public.

At a briefing last month, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked when the bulk of the files would be released. She said she didn’t have a “specific timeline.”

In January 2024, Trump posted on Truth Social that he “was never on Epstein’s Plane, or at his ‘stupid island.’”

In the sudden dustup between two of the most dynamic personalities to ever grace this earth, the likelihood that this just dies down and goes away is basically impossible.

We just saw Elon Musk and President Trump go from zero to 1,000MPH in the blink of an eye.

I hope, for the good of the country and for the good of the Trump Administration, things calm down soon between these legendary personalities.

And I hope even more that these accusations aren’t true.
