Former President Joe Biden is doubling down on his use of the now-infamous autopen, insisting that he was the one who made the decisions while he served in the White House, contrary to the many rumors floating around on the internet.

However, President Donald Trump isn’t sold, and he’s ordering the Justice Department to open up a full investigation into the use of the autopen by the Biden administration. Trump alleges that top officials working under Biden used this feature in order to conceal Biden’s cognitive decline and take advantage of the office.

“I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations. Any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false,” Biden shot back in a statement.

“This is nothing more than a distraction by Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans who are working to push disastrous legislation that would cut essential programs like Medicaid and raise costs on American families, all to pay for tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations,” the statement continued.

President Trump called on Attorney General Pam Bondi to get the ball rolling on investigations into top officials in the Biden administration on Wednesday. He made the case that these individuals may have worked together to deceive the American people about Biden’s mental condition.

More terrifying, the president says these people may have exercised presidential authority through the autopen.

Trump wrote in a Wednesday memo that the president has a tremendous amount of power and responsibility through his signature. Not only can the signature turn words into laws, but it can also appoint officials to some of the highest positions in government and even craft policy.

“In recent months, it has become increasingly apparent that former President Biden’s aides abused the power of Presidential signatures through the use of an autopen to conceal Biden’s cognitive decline and assert Article II authority,” Trump said. “This conspiracy marks one of the most dangerous and concerning scandals in American history. The American public was purposefully shielded from discovering who wielded the executive power, all while Biden’s signature was deployed across thousands of documents to effect radical policy shifts.”

“Given clear indications that President Biden lacked the capacity to exercise his Presidential authority, if his advisors secretly used the mechanical signature pen to conceal this incapacity, while taking radical executive actions all in his name, that would constitute an unconstitutional wielding of the power of the Presidency, a circumstance that would have implications for the legality and validity of numerous executive actions undertaken in Biden’s name,” the president added.

Republicans in the House, led by Rep. James Comer (R-KY) who is head of the Oversight Committee, started a probe early last month with the goal of ascertaining whether Biden, whose health was quickly rolling down hill in the last months of his presidency, was mentally fit to authorize use of the autopen.

Last week, Comer stated that he was even open to the idea of bringing Biden before the House to answer questions about the situation if it was deemed necessary.
