The head of the New York FBI office, James Dennehy, has just been forced to resign.

Dennehy claims that he is complying with orders given on Friday to put in his retirement papers.

He also says that he was not given a reason why.

However, the New York FBI office has been accused by the DOJ of hiding thousands of Epstein documents from AG Pam Bondi.

Take a look:

The New York Post reported:

The top FBI agent in New York was ousted Monday, saying he wasn’t given any explanation for the decision from Washington.

James Dennehy, a US Marine Corps veteran who joined the bureau after the Sept. 11 attacks, announced his forced resignation in a letter to staffers at the FBI’s New York Field Office.

“Late Friday, I was informed that I needed to put my retirement papers in today, which I just did. I was not given a reason for this decision,” he wrote in the missive, obtained by ABC News and other outlets.

Dennehy apologized for the abruptness of his resignation in the letter, in which he called his colleagues “an office of professionals who will always do the right thing for the right reasons.”

Dennehy also refused to name agents involved in J6 prosecutions.

And, last month, he wrote an email to staff, vowing to “dig in” after these J6 investigators were forced out of their positions.

Per NBC News:

Two of the sources said James Dennehy, a highly respected FBI leader and former Marine, was given a choice to resign or be fired.

Last month, Dennehy wrote an email to his staff after the Trump Justice Department, led by Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, demanded a list of all bureau employees who had worked on criminal cases against the hundreds of Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol.

“Today, we find ourselves in the middle of a battle of our own as good people are being walked out of the FBI,” Dennehy wrote. “And others are being targeted because they did their jobs in accordance with the law and FBI policy.”

“Time for me to dig in,” Dennehy said.

Dennehy was referring to the ouster of eight veteran FBI leaders a day after then-incoming FBI director Kash Patel testified under oath that “All FBI employees will be protected against political retribution.”

This is a great start.

But, many folks on X are saying it doesn’t go far enough.
