Tom Homan, President Trump’s newly appointed ‘border czar,’ confirmed that mass deportation operations are now underway across the country. Speaking on America Reports Tuesday, Homan outlined the administration’s aggressive strategy to address illegal immigration.

Homan announced that targeted enforcement operations have begun nationwide, with a particular focus on sanctuary cities like Chicago and New York City. These efforts are aimed at apprehending non-citizen criminals, specifically those with serious criminal records or final deportation orders.

“It has started. It has started. All these teams are out there as of today,” Homan said. “We gave them the direction to prioritize public safety threats that we’re looking for. We’ve been working on the target list.”

“Right out of the gate is public safety threats: those who are in the country illegally that’s been convicted of or arrested for a serious crime,” he explained. “Let me be clear, it’s not only public safety threats that will be arrested because the sanctuary cities were not allowed to get that public safety threat in the jail.”

“Unlike the last administration, we’re not going to tell ICE officers not to arrest an illegal alien, so if they find others, they’ll be arrested,” he continued. President Trump signed a series of executive orders addressing illegal immigration, including measures to end birthright citizenship, reinstate the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy, and designate Mexican cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.

“First of all, President Trump’s a game changer. Every one of the executive orders we worked on, and these are a game changer. This is going to give us the most secure border in my lifetime.”

“So, great for him to do that. Birthright citizenship is a major driver of illegal immigration. I know from, I’ve done this for over three decades,” Homan continued.

Homan and the Trump administration have remain consistent in their commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and securing the nation’s borders. Previously serving as acting director of ICE during President Trump’s first term, Homan was appointed as the “border czar” for the current administration.

“The 14th amendment does not differentiate between somebody who’s in this country legally or illegally,” Homan told Fox News. “I’m not an attorney, but I don’t think the 14th amendment should try and tell you all.

“We have just as many legal scholars, constitutional scholars. It doesn’t really say that, so what President Trump is taking, that action will let the Supreme Court decide that.”

On his first day back in office, President Trump signed executive orders to tighten border security. He declared a national emergency, reinstated the “Remain in Mexico” policy, and ended birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants. Trump also suspended the U.S. refugee program and designated Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations.

“When we target the public safety threats, we know exactly who we’re looking for, pretty good idea where they’re at. ICE officers throughout the country were told today, go make arrests of those who are illegally here that have a public safety problem.” Homan finished, “We have over 700,000 illegal aliens with criminal records walking the streets of this country. That’s what we’re looking for right now.”
