Reports are now revealing that the alleged anti-Semitic would-be terrorist who launched an attack on a Jewish gathering in Boulder, Colorado, was an illegal immigrant who entered the country during the Biden administration. The suspect was allowed to stay in the U.S. long after his visa expired.

The Trump administration stated that the 45-year-old Egyptian national was given a work permit after he violated the law by overstaying his visa.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman has been accused of attacking several elderly protestors who were participating in a “Run for Their Lives” walk. The event was created as a call to release Israeli hostages in Gaza.

Reports say Soliman used a “makeshift flamethrower,” along with a Molotov cocktail during the attack. Several media outlets say Soliman shouted, “Free Palestine!” while carrying out this horrific act of violence, just as the alleged killer of the D.C. Israeli embassy staffers did last month.

Federal law enforcement officials said they are looking at the attack as “ideologically motivated violence.”

A total of 8 people were injured by Soliman, with victims ranging from 52 to 88 years of age.

Fox News’ Bill Melugin took to social media to report that “the Boulder terror suspect is an Egyptian national in the U.S. illegally as a visa overstay who entered the U.S. during the Biden administration.”

“I’m told Mohamed Sabry Soliman arrived at [Los Angeles International Airport] on 8/27/22 on a B1/B2 nonimmigrant visa with an authorized stay through 2/26/23, but he overstayed & never left. I’m told on 9/29/22, he filed some sort of claim with USCIS, potentially an asylum claim, and on 3/29/23, USCIS under the Biden admin gave him work authorization, which expired on 3/28/25,” he continued.

Soliman being connected to the failed immigration policies of the Biden administration could, and likely will, come back to haunt the Democratic Party in upcoming elections. Immigration was a top issue for many Americans who voted for President Donald Trump last November.

This attack has the potential to draw even more people on board with the GOP agenda for immigration, particularly as it relates to national security.

“A terror attack was committed in Boulder, Colorado by an illegal alien. He was granted a tourist visa by the Biden Administration and then he illegally overstayed that visa. In response, the Biden Administration gave him a work permit,” White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said on X.

Aaron Brockett, mayor of Boulder, used some harsh language in his condemnation of the act.

“I am saddened and outraged at the appalling attack on members of Boulder’s Jewish community that happened today during a peaceful gathering on Pearl Street,” he said in his response. “As the mayor of the city of Boulder, I want to be clear that violence and hatred have no place here. Attacks like these seek to strike terror in people’s hearts and divide us from one another, but Boulder will stand strong together.”

Democrats may have shot themselves in the foot in this instance due to Boulder being one of 14 cities in Colorado that made it onto the DOJ’s list of “sanctuary” cities. In 2016, after Trump was elected for his first term, Boulder produced a resolution that made it clear everyone knew where they stood on immigration.

“Council members directed that the proposed ordinance include strong statements of the city’s intent to be inclusive and to recognize the important contributions of undocumented persons in the community,” the resolution went on to say.

It also featured a number of “prohibited activities” for city employees, including digging “into a person’s immigration status,” using city money to “assist with any investigation into a person’s immigration status” or “assist in the detention of any person based on a person’s suspected immigration status,” or cooperating “with any federal authority with respect to any investigation of a person’s immigration status.”

Following this latest incident, the city is now cooperating with federal authorities. However, it could be too little, too late. Further damage to the Democratic Party from the fallout of the Biden administration could wreck any chances they have of bouncing back in 2026.
