President Donald Trump got some good news from a poll that, at least for now, puts the final nail in the coffin for the Democrats’ “buyer’s remorse” narrative. Since the 2024 election, the Democrat Party has attempted to craft a yarn that makes it seem as if Trump voters are regretting their decision to vote the president into office.

But the cold, hard data tells a different story.

According to the poll from Trafalgar Group, conducted between May 30 and June 1, President Trump’s approval rating is 53.7 percent. These findings show an upward trajectory for the President since his election. His disapproval rating is shrinking, sitting currently at 45.6 percent. Trafalgar surveyed 1,098 voters for the poll.

Some on the left are questioning the accuracy of the poll and thus the integrity of Trafalgar Group. The organization currently has a B+ for accuracy from FiveThirtyEight, making them one of the most consistently accurate pollsters in recent election cycles, especially when it comes to capturing the sentiments of voters who are often overlooked by the mainstream media surveys.

The reason for this is Trafalgar’s methodology, which includes a model that accounts for “shy voters.” Conservative voters often feel less inclined to participate in surveys, and the organization works to ensure these individuals’ voices are heard.

President Trump’s latest numbers reflect the satisfaction American voters feel with the policies he’s enacting in his administration. We’ve seen massive cuts in wasteful spending, saving taxpayers millions. All the while, gas prices are going down, and groceries are getting cheaper by the day.

Voters take this as a sign of economic recovery and repair, thus they have more favorable sentiments toward the current administration.

A report from Newsweek, written by Tom Rogers and Susan Del Percio, made the claim that Trump supporters are beginning to have buyer’s remorse, but this appears to be a false narrative.

The piece, published on May 20, 2025, says, “A slew of polls marked the first 100 days of the second Trump presidency. All the major ones showed increasing disapproval of Donald Trump’s handling of his job during his second term. In fact, the numbers are the lowest since national polling on the question began in the early 1950s.”

“Like the NBC News, CNN/SSRS and CBS/YouGOV polls—all of which had Trump’s approval rating in the 41 percent to 45 percent range and disapproval ratings in the 55 percent to 59 percent range—the Emerson College poll found that among independents, Trump was underwater on issues ranging from tariff policy to the economy to deportations to handling of the Russian/Ukraine war and the Israel/Hamas wars,” the article claimed.

Folks on social media have pointed out that more accurate pollsters, such as Quantus Insights and Trafalgar, have data that is favorable toward the president.
