John Bolton is in hot water, big-time.

According to a leak from The New York Times, former National Security Advisor John Bolton sent emails containing classified information over a private server system.

The emails were reportedly intercepted by an adversarial foreign nation’s spy service.

These new details come after the FBI raided John Bolton’s home last week.

Although Democrats and the establishment media criticized the Trump administration over the raid, the NYT now claims that the investigation into Bolton actually “began to pick up momentum” underneath Biden.

Apparently, the U.S. was able to obtain data from a hostile nation’s spy service that revealed classified intel was stolen from emails sent over John Bolton’s’ private, unsecured server.

Here’s more from The New York Times report:

The investigation into President Trump’s former national security adviser, John R. Bolton, began to pick up momentum during the Biden administration, when U.S. intelligence officials collected information that appeared to show that he had mishandled classified information, according to people familiar with the inquiry.

The United States gathered data from an adversarial country’s spy service, including emails with sensitive information that Mr. Bolton, while still working in the first Trump administration, appeared to have sent to people close to him on an unclassified system, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive case that remains open.

The investigation of Mr. Bolton, who has become an ardent critic of the president, burst back into public view last week when federal agents searched his Maryland home and Washington office.

While those searches have raised fresh questions about the extent to which Mr. Trump may be using the Justice Department and F.B.I. to try to punish those he dislikes, the new details of the case present a more complex chain of events. The disclosures suggest that a long-running investigation into Mr. Bolton’s activities changed over time, with some of the issues echoing past inquiries into the handling of national security secrets.

The emails in question, according to the people, were sent by Mr. Bolton and included information that appeared to derive from classified documents he had seen while he was national security adviser. Mr. Bolton apparently sent the messages to people close to him who were helping him gather material that he would ultimately use in his 2020 memoir, “The Room Where It Happened.”

At this time, the “adversarial country” that may have obtained classified information through Bolton’s private email server has not been named.

Newsweek noted:

It remains unclear which foreign government intercepted Bolton’s emails, though the Times noted that Iran, Russia, and China all had strong motives to monitor his communications during his time as national security adviser. Bolton played a key role in the Trump administration’s decision to kill a top Iranian general, leaving him under threat of retaliation. Trump ended Bolton’s U.S. security detail the day after taking the oath for his second term.

However, Bolton seems very worried, indeed.

Amid all this mounting legal trouble, he is reportedly trying to retain the services of high-profile criminal defense lawyer Abbe Lowell.

In the past, Lowell represented political figures like Hunter Biden and Letitia James.

He’s acting very guilty…let’s hope we see an indictment soon!

On another note, isn’t it very telling how the NYT is suddenly flipping the script on this?

Now that the tides are very obviously turning against Bolton, the MSM is already trying to play it off like Democrats were actually the ones leading the charge the whole time and to give all the credit to the Biden administration.

I guess that’s an even clearer sign of where things are headed.
