Joe Rogan doesn’t appear to be a fan of President Trump’s new plaques inside the White House.

While sitting down with Joe Rogan, comedian Shane Gillis asked Rogan what his thoughts were on President Trump’s new plaques inside the White House.

The plaques Rogan was referring to were the new descriptions underneath the portraits of former presidents inside of the White House that the Trump administration had edited.

Rogan called the new plaques “so crazy.”

The Hill reported more on Rogan’s comments:

Podcast host Joe Rogan on Thursday slammed President Trump’s White House plaque describing former President Biden’s time in office as “so crazy,” saying it sets a bad precedent.

“This is so crazy,” Rogan told his guest, comedian Shane Gillis, on “The Joe Rogan Experience” released on Christmas Day. “You shouldn’t be allowed to do this. Right?”

Rogan said that historians, not the current commander in chief, should be allowed to write the plaques of the presidents along the “Presidential Walk of Fame” that Trump added the White House. Rogan read Biden’s plaque, which referred to Trump’s dual successor and predecessor as “Sleepy Joe Biden,” a common nickname used by the president.

“‘Nicknamed both “Sleepy” and “Crooked,”‘” — by you! Nicknamed?” Rogan said. “Like the whole public got together — ‘I’ve got a name for this guy!’”

Rogan repeated that the descriptions were “crazy” and said someone “needs to tell him like, ‘Hey, this is not good. You can’t do that, because other people could do that too and then the White House stops being the White House,’ and it becomes whoever is in its house, where he could just go crazy and say everybody else is a crook.”

ABC 7 reported more details on the new plaques:

Months after President Donald Trump refashioned a West Wing walkway into what he calls the Presidential Walk of Fame, he has added partisan and subjective plaques to the display, deepening his fingerprints on the White House’s aesthetic and continuing his effort to bend the telling of history to his liking.

From “Sleepy Joe” Biden references to painting Republican icon Ronald Reagan as a fan of a young Trump, the plaques include bombastic language written in Trumpian style. The installation is the Republican president’s latest move to shape the White House in his image, an effort that has spanned from adorning the Oval Office to razing the East Wing in preparation for a massive ballroom addition.

An introductory plaque tells passersby that the Presidential Walk of Fame was “conceived, built, and dedicated by President Donald J. Trump as a tribute to past Presidents, good, bad, and somewhere in the middle.”

Biden’s plaque repeats false claims that the 46th president, a Democrat, took office “as a result of the most corrupt election ever,” when, in fact, he defeated Trump in 2020 in both the popular vote and the Electoral College. Biden is also described as “by far, the worst president in American history.”

Another Democrat, Barack Obama, the nation’s first Black president and Trump’s first presidential predecessor, is labeled “one of the most divisive political figures in American history.”
