CNN’s Jake Tapper voiced his frustration with an unnamed left-wing podcaster who accused his son of “racism” because he wants to become a police officer. While the podcaster meant the bizarre remark as a joke, Tapper was not amused and found it to be a microcosm of the left’s inability to appeal to young men.

“Their joke was about my 15-year-old son, ‘Oh, how does he feel about minorities?’” Tapper recalled during an interview on “The Prof G Pod” podcast last week. “Like the idea that he wants to be a policeman, therefore he’s, he’s racist, my son. And like, you know, that was the big laugh.”

The CNN host thought that the comment was emblematic of the left’s recent electoral struggles and cratering approval ratings. “Then I got dragged in the comments and all that stuff and, and I thought to myself, ‘This is why you f***ers are losing elections,” he said.

“The Prof G Pod” host Scott Galloway agreed with Tapper’s assessment, saying, “One hundred percent.”

Tapper did not identify the podcast host behind the remark, saying only that it was a “left-leaning podcast that shall remain nameless.” Social media sleuths soon figured out that the remark was made during his appearance on “How Long Gone” back in April.

A seemingly offended “How Long Gone” co-host Chris Black issued a response to Tapper after the apparent critique. “Him willfully choosing to take a joke wrong, that he definitely knew what it was in the moment, I would say is only a pro move,” Black said after Tapper’s remarks made the rounds on social media. “He spun it for his own gain, and it’s working.”

Tapper is currently in the midst of a sprawling book tour following the release of “Original Sin,” which details the cover-up of former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline from White House staff, members of the media and leading Democratic Party figures.

The book, which he co-authored with Axios’ Alex Thompson, comes as Democrats are attempting to right the ship after a staggering loss of support among young men. Just last week, a group of Democrat Party financiers came up with a $20 million plan aimed at “creating” a “liberal Joe Rogan” in order to counter conservative dominance in the podcast space.

“My son is now 15 years old, and he’s a gamer. He’s a football fan, starting linebacker on his varsity football team,” Tapper explained. “The Democratic Party has no way of communicating with him. They have no entrée into his world.”

Tapper reiterated that comments such as the one made about his son are repulsive to the very voters Democrats are hoping to win over.

“You’re deciding he’s a racist because he wants to be a cop. And why does he want to be a cop? He wants to be a cop because he wants to help people,” the CNN host said. “He thinks that’s the best way he can help people. And that’s how the Democratic Party talks to men, not just white men, but men.
