Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), who is running for Governor of South Carolina, faces a lawsuit from Patrick Bryant, her ex-fiancé, alleging she fabricated sexual assault allegations.

Mace previously called Bryant a “sexual predator in a speech,” WCSC noted.

According to the New York Post, Bryant claimed that “she inaccurately portrayed him as a sexual predator as part of a larger scheme she concocted with a friend’s estranged wife.”

WCSC shared:

Patrick Bryant filed the lawsuit on Thursday, claiming in court records that allegations made in a May lawsuit by a “Jane Doe” were fabricated. The original lawsuit claimed that Doe was assaulted at the home of Eric Bowman by another man and that Bowman and Bryant filmed it. Mace referenced this incident in her House speech back in February.

In the new suit, Bryant claims he is the only victim and alleges Mace conspired with Bowman’s estranged wife to fabricate the assault involving Doe, who had worked for Bryant years earlier.

Bryant claims Doe filed the May lawsuit based on Mace’s false allegations and that Mace made up the assault to blackmail him. The suit alleges Mace thought Bryant was cheating during their relationship and tried to hack his phone.

The suit claims Mace told a political consultant she would use images from his phone to get ownership of their joint properties, but never mentioned sex trafficking or gang rape.

Bryant claims he and other men never did anything to Doe in October 2018 after she fell into a pool at a party. Though Bowman’s estranged wife later claimed she witnessed the alleged assault on a home security system, she did not say anything to Doe that night, according to the suit.

Bryant alleges that Mace and Bowman’s wife met and conspired to frame and defraud him and two others, then set out to find a victim.

“I will release evidence on Monday proving predator and alleged rapist Patrick Bryant from my floor speech is once again lying to the court in his frivolous complaint. I just got him sanctioned last week for weaponizing the court against me and rape victim Jane Doe. I plan on doing it again in this case after we move to dismiss,” Mace said on Friday.

“It’s disgusting that a man who abused women for years would sue his victims. Gross. Offensive. Very strange behavior. And I worry about the women who have come forward and their safety. Who in their right mind does that?” she continued.

“Separately, we’ve been trying to serve Bryant for months now in a separate real estate dispute because he violated our agreement (allegedly). Bryant so far has refused service by our process server. He WON’T ANSWER THE DOOR (allegedly)!” Mace said in another post.

“He tried to avoid accepting service for another one of his victims earlier this year also (allegedly). Real men protect women! HOLD THE LINE,” she added.

“I am also guessing the FAKE NEWS will do what it always does and take his words as FACT because they don’t like me, I’m too strong. I stand up to the FAKE NEWS and I stand up to people and politicians who LIE, CHEAT and STEAL. And I take on those who need taking on – just like Donald Trump,” Mace said.

“I am taking notes and paying very close attention to the coverage of this frivolous lawsuit. All those who defame me like they did in airport-gate will be straight up SUED. I am tired of being bullied by those who should be rotting in jail,” she added.

More from the New York Post:

Mace delivered the impassioned speech in February where she outed four men she accused of drugging, molesting and filming multiple female victims, including herself.

Bryant, her ex-flame, was among the men she accused. The pair broke up in November 2023 during what he described as a period of heightened paranoia that pushed Mace to hack his phone and place a tracker in his car, according to the complaint obtained by WCSC.

Bryant claimed he found Mace sifting through his phone and accused her of installing a secret app to pilfer pictures and other data without his knowledge.

While the dispute was ongoing, he alleged Mace and Bowman’s estranged wife cooked up an elaborate ploy to convince an unnamed Jane Doe — who previously worked for the businessman — that they found a video of the employee being “gang raped” on his phone.

From there, the congrsswoman allegedly told the “impressionable” Doe that the video was taken at Bowman’s home and that he, Bryant, and John Osborne were all involved in the act, according to the complaint.
