Aaron’s wife, Margarita, told the outlet that her husband woke up feeling sore. As the days went by, he started getting pain in his neck and back, and eventually lost feeling in his legs.
Margarita says her husband has a blood infection, and doctors are still running tests. She says he is now partially breathing on his own.
“He opened his eyes today and gave a thumbs up,” she told the outlet.

Very sad news.
Doctors are still trying to figure out the cause of the infection.
Aaron’s wife Margarita says that they are relying on God to pull him through this.
Fox News has more details on Aaron’s condition:
“The Blind Side” star was intubated Friday and placed on life support due to a severe blood infection, his wife Margarita Aaron confirmed to Fox News Digital.
Doctors are not yet sure what caused the infection and continue to run tests to determine the root of the cause. While Aaron’s medical team said his status is “day by day,” Margarita remained optimistic about his prognosis and said her husband is “a very strong fighter.”

“Although he seemed like he was a little lucid, he was not very responsive,” she said of a visit with Aaron yesterday. “I did at least get a thumbs up out of him when I chatted with him, which was promising. At this point, the endotracheal tube or the breathing assistance that he has is not doing all the work, thankfully.”
“He’s doing some of the work as well, which is also promising. They’re going to do a bioluminescent MRI, so there will be more answers at that point as well.”
She added, “He’s a fighter; he’s a very strong fighter, and you know, he is making progress day by day, and I believe God’s got him, and he believes God’s got him.”
Quinton Aaron has battled several medical scares over the past several years.
But recently, he had committed to living a healthier lifestyle and, impressively, lost 200 pounds.
TMZ noted:
The health scare comes after a series of medical battles for the 40 year old actor. In March 2025, he was rushed to a California medical facility after developing a fever and coughing up blood.
At the time, Aaron said doctors ran multiple tests and believed he was dealing with Type A flu and pneumonia. In 2019, he battled a severe upper respiratory infection.
In October 2025, Quinton shared his dramatic 200 pound weight loss journey with us.
Please pray for Quinton Aaron to make a full recovery and for his family in this difficult time.
