Chuck Schumer has made it clear he does not care what the people want, including in his own base. This is because he’s not in the progressive fight to give the people what they demand; he’s in it to give the people what the establishment wants. If voter ID hurts the Democrats’ chances of winning, then the American people don’t deserve it, according to him. He justifies this stance by calling it racist, despite skin color having nothing to do with it.

When Schumer was asked why he opposed the SAVE Act, considering over 70% of Democrats support it, while nearly all Republicans want it, the best excuse he could give was that it was “Jim Crow 2.0.”

Jim Crow laws were used to legalize racial segregation. IDs don’t segregate based on race, as nearly everyone has one. Does he think Black people are too stupid to pick one up? By his rhetoric, it would appear that yes, he does believe that.

When the left cannot justify their policy positions, which is more often than not, they resort to calling people racist. So, the best he can do to justify why you don’t deserve secure elections is by calling over 70% of HIS voters racist. Does he really think that’s convincing anyone? Because it’s not.

Additionally, it’s not just 70% of White Democrats who want. It’s popular among all racial groups. So, while we can pretend this was a nice try to override the will of the people, it was anything but.

Maybe, just maybe, the left will one day represent the will of the people, but don’t hold your breath. As people like Schumer have made it clear they intend to hold power at all costs, despite their policies being against the will of the people. But what else is new?
