Turning Point USA President Erika Kirk was interviewed at the New York Times Deal Book Summit on Wednesday.

In the interview Kirk was asked by Andrew Ross Sorkin if she plans to support JD Vance in 2028.

Kirk responded, that JD Vance is a dear friend and she remembers her husband backed JD Vance as he ran for the senate.

She then added, “we do adore JD and my husband was very vocal in supporting him but…” after a pause she continued that we should focus on the current administration and enjoy it while we have it because Charlie worked very hard for it.

Her remarks are a bit different then what she said a few weeks ago when she was asked a similar question, per News Nation:

Erika Kirk said that efforts to support JD Vance in a potential 2028 presidential bid are “in the works” during a recent conversation with conservative commentator Megyn Kelly.

Erika Kirk is the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. She took over as CEO of Turning Point USA following her husband’s death in September.

During an appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Channel,” Kirk revealed that one of her last conversations with her husband was about “how intentional he was about supporting JD for ’28.”

However, Kirk clarified that Turning Point’s main focus remains on next year’s midterm elections.

“Let’s start with the midterms before we start jumping to ’28,” she said. “And let’s enjoy the fact that we do have Donald Trump in office, and we worked really hard to make that happen, my husband did.”

Previously a hug between Erika and JD Vance went viral.
