A crash in downtown Los Angeles near the bustling fashion district injured nine people, several including children, authorities confirmed.

Details are limited and it’s unclear what exactly happened, though footage of the incident posted to the Citizen App shows a minivan crashed into a structure along the sidewalk in the 300 block of East 12th Street near Santee Alley, an outdoor shopping venue in the area.

Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene at around 3:15 p.m. and could be seen cordoning the area off with yellow tape.

At least one person was seen in the care of LAFD medical personnel at the crash site.

LAFD said all of the patients, six adults adults and three children, were being taken to the hospital in fair condition.

Officials with the Los Angeles Police Department, in a post to X, formerly Twitter, encouraged people to expect delays on 12th Street between Maple and Santee streets, while investigators with LAPD Central Traffic Division worked the scene.

It is unclear if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision and whether the driver of the minivan is facing any potential charges.
