This is a developing story with very little information to go on at the moment.

The Department of Justice building is being evacuated for some unknown threat.

Currently there are reports of various emergency crews, law enforcement, and ‘specialized response units’ on site.

Apparently the evacuees have not yet been told why the evacuation order was given, or what the threat is.

Leo Terrell, a recurrent Fox News contributor, podcast host and Civil Rights Attorney was at the location at the time of the evacuation and posted a video showing the scene outside the building.

Rawsalerts quickly added what little information is being surmised from the scene in lieu of official word from authorities.

Here’s the full text of the Rawsalerts post:

#BREAKING: The department of Justice building is being evacuated due to a unknown threat

#Washington | #DC

At this time numerous people inside the Department of Justice building in Washington, D.C., are being evacuated due to an unknown threat. Multiple emergency crews, including law enforcement and specialized response units, are on the scene assessing the situation. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the nature of the threat or any potential risks to the surrounding area. This situation is still developing.

While this scenario has played out thousands of times with an anti-climactic ending (thank God) we are living in very turbulent times.

So far there is no word on whether this is a bomb threat or something of that nature, though that is what comes to mind first simply because that is a common culprit in these instances, usually with more “threat” and no bomb.

The fact that the Rawsalerts references ‘specialized response units’ is somewhat alarming, but could simply be the normal response to an unknown threat in order to have every tool in the tool kit on hand regardless of what type of scenario unfolds.

This is a developing story.  We will bring you updates as soon as information becomes available.
