If there’s one thing Trump knows about, it’s using bluster to throw uncertainty into any negotiation. Remember how he got the Taliban to stop killing Americans through the end of his first term?

(Answer: he showed their leaders a satellite picture of their homes and told them it would become a target if any more Americans died. They listened.)

Anyone watching Trump’s patters with foreign relations — including the various peace deals he’s negotiated in his first year back, they have involved a vigorous use of carrots and sticks. The bigger his ask, the bigger the stick he will be willing to threaten with.

But what he really wants, at the end of the day, is a deal with minimal bloodshed. In Venezuela, he got cooperation from the #2 in the existing lawless regime. That was a workable solution that was far better than bloodshed. In return, he saw the release of untold numbers of political prisoners and the beginnings of a return to normal diplomacy. Trade was re-established, and China was frozen out of their illicit trade project.

Obama and Biden tried the ‘speak softly’ approach. Not only did Iran renege on the deal to discontinue nuclear development, they lied about their work in developing medium-to-long range ICBMs that could threaten European capitals. They threw money at Iran, which was promptly fed into their terror projects destabilizing the region.

Leftist ‘experts’ methods failed. Trump tried a different way.

He is leveraging his own Cowboy reputation and willingness to use strength (ie: bombing the Caliphate into non-existence; Solemani Salsa; don’t cry Baddadi, Midnight Hammer, Maduro raid and the near-total destruction of their conventional air and sea defences) as proof positive that, unlike Presidents before him ‘all options on the table’ means exactly that.

The bunker-buster wiping out their last leadership meeting while they staged an impossibly daring rescue of a downed pilot shows we have capabilities far beyond those we’ve already bought to bear.

Trump made a point of Tuesday being ‘Bridge and Powerplant’ Day. Iran obviously believed him because they deployed children as human shields to protect them. (An unbelievably cowardly act.)

The President doubled down by saying America was poised do deliver what amounted to a civilizational reset. Iran would be so thoroughly obliterated that it could not be reconstituted the form as we currently see it.

You would expect outraged reactions to such a statement from hostile nations. But Trump has gotten so far inside the heads of the hate-America left that even elected Democrats are publicly sympathizing with the largest state sponsor of terror in the world.

They flocked to their social media accounts, to radio shows, and to TV hits, eager to make their appeal to invoke the 25th Amendment and to file articles of impeachment not only against Trump — which is a given — but against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth for… well, probably making the folks he replaced look like total clowns.

Blowing up bridges and power plants is a war crime, they bleated. (Just hours before Zelenskyy blew up a key Russian Bridge and some of their oil infrastructure. (But it’s (D)ifferent when Zelenskyy does it, you see, on account of the massive kickbacks that were on their way to Democrat election coffers.)

Of course war crime allegations only hold up if there is no military use of the facilities being targeted… and good luck making that case for bridges and power plants in that particular country. (Bridges, for example would have to disprove claims that Iran has been using them for THIS.)

For anyone paying attention, Trump’s playbook is pretty straightforward. We described it in the Human Shields story from yesterday: Make demands. Exact A price. Give a negotiating window. Escalate and repeat.

Something like 12 hours after our story about Iran Employing human shields went live, something changed.

Iran blinked.

Trump made his announcement.

There had been a breakthrough in negotiations. Pakistani moderators made an announcement about the parts of the deal that were acceptable, and which Trump saw as satisfactory for a basis of any future ‘aggressive negotiations’ (to borrow a line from Star Wars).

Right on cue, Dems pivoted

After hours of calling Trump an insane war criminal that had to be stopped (while conveniently ignoring Iran’s cluster bombs raining down on cities, or hits on desalination plants of neighbouring nations), they had to pivot hard when Trump announced that his ultimatum and reopened talks with the other side.

It’s as if a memo went out.

Instead of showing the least degree of relief that cooler heads had prevailed, with a stated window of looking to negotiations rather than escalations to resolve the conflict, they reframed their attack on Trump.

From ‘Crazy’ to ‘Coward’, like flipping a switch

In just a few short hours, he went from being a crazy totalitarian psychopath hellbent on war crimes to bringing back the lame attack they tried to hit Trump with when he used the exact same bluster-big to advance the deal strategy in working out trade deals with Tariff threats. He threw out BIG numbers, got talked down to far smaller ones, and was STILL happy enough with the concessions that he signed on the dotted line.

Either not understanding his negotiation style, or cynically misrepresenting it for political gain, they call that ‘TACO’. ‘Trump Always Chickens Out’.

Here’s one social media account documenting just how badly Trump has broken their brains:

It wasn’t rank-and-file, internet anons, or NeverTrump former right-wing grifters either.

Media carried the water….

PREDICTABLE: Erin Burnett Proclaims “TACO” After News of Iran Ceasefire Breaks

David French and John Pavlovitz are (not surprisingly) siding with Iran…

And the political whiplash went right up to the top brass of the party.

It’s pretty sad when Dems, Lincoln Project/No Kings grifters (Kristol), and right-wing-but-vote-Democrat Fuentes all wind up with the same talking points. The all sound like sock-puppets.

It makes you wonder who their REAL stenographers are, doesn’t it?

Final thought.

Did you ever ask yourself why they insist on invoking the phrase ‘war of choice’?

It’s a deliberate attempt to erase any credit he could get for all the wars he helped negotiate an end to in the last year. Can you imagine the panic if ‘crazy’ Trump finds a way to bring the #1 State sponsor of Terror back into some kind of a reasonable relationship with its neighbors, to stop inciting Civil Wars and artillery fire into random communities?

We might actually have a plausible path to the ‘lasting peace’ that has eluded us all for so very, very long. And then what happens to an entire industry of ‘experts’ who gave us decades worth of bad advice?

They’re already salivating over what they hope will be their next impeachment circus against him.

Here’s a little reminder that this is hardly his first time facing down these clowns.
