Dan Bongino continues his interview tour, this morning on Fox and Friends where he revealed there is indeed video of Jeffrey Epstein that fateful night in which he allegedly killed himself.
It’s a pretty incredible clip where Dan says “there is video” of Epstein, to which Lawrence Jones immediately jumps in and asks: “There is video of him killing himself?”
And then Dan immediately says “no, no, not of that”.
It’s almost like a comedy act if you want to laugh about it instead of crying.
Watch here:
JUST IN – DAN BONGINO: “There is [Epstein] video…that when you look at the video, when we release this – we are looking at cleaning it up, we’re gonna give the original – there is no one there but him.”

Ok, now let’s discuss this….
I know without even checking his Twitter feed that people like my friend Shawn Farash are going to be saying “See! See! Dan’s just telling you what’s in the file, that’s it!”
Except…that’s not really it.
Because Dan isn’t JUST telling us what’s in the file.
It would be one thing if Dan was acting a bit skeptical and then says “Look guys, I’m just telling you what’s in the file.”
But he hasn’t done that.
He went on Maria Bartiromo and said very angrily and forcefully, “He killed himself!”
That’s that problem we all have with this.
Let’s be abundantly clear here, no one is criticizing Dan for telling us what’s in the file….
It’s just the second part where he angrily chimes in: “HE KILLED HIMSELF!”
There’s where we all say hang on, not sure I’m going to take that trip with you.
Because even in the clip above, 2023 Dan Bongino would have been dicing this up like that the Salt Bae did in that ultra cringe clip where he diced up steak and fed it to Piers Morgan!
Because there’s a ton to dice up here.
Why is there no video of Epstein’s cell?
Why did that mysteriously go out at the exact moment he allegedly killed himself?
You see, 2023 Dan Bongino would be having a hey-day with that.
But 2025 FBI Dan says some other video that is not continuous and does not show the actual key area somehow proves he killed himself — and is DEFINITELY not doctored or anything because it was in the FBI file and we can trust whoever put it in there!
That’s the part we all have a problem with.
I’ve written more about it here:
Addressing The Dan Bongino “Scandal” — feat. Captain Deplorable
Addressing The Dan Bongino “Scandal” — feat. Captain Deplorable
Ok, it’s time to address the Dan Bongino scandal.
Actually, “scandal” probably isn’t the right word for it, maybe “debate” is better?
There is a growing division in MAGA about Pam Bondi, Kash Patel and Dan Bongino.
Group 1: We like all three of you, we’re rooting for all three of you, but something seems very wrong. Very off. Body language is very bad. All indications are something is very wrong. We’re still hoping for the best, but we’re concerned.
Group 2: Trust Pam, Kash and Dan and give them time! Do not say anything bad about them, you’re not on the inside so you don’t know anything, just shut your fat face up! (ok, that’s a rough paraphrase)
I think for Pam, it’s about 90% (Group 1) and 10% (Group 2).
For Kash I think it’s more like 80/20.
And for Dan I think it’s probably more like 70/30.
Those numbers are very rough estimates based on all the feedback I see in comments and emails that come to me.
So for the purposes of this article, I want to focus only on Dan to narrow and simplify the discussion.
And I want to organize this article around a post from my friend Shawn Farash.
I’ve known Shawn long before many of you did. In fact, I knew him back when he only went by “Captain Deplorable”.
Remember this?
EXCLUSIVE: “President Trump” Gives a Shout-Out To WeLoveTrump.com!
Now he’s kind of rebranded and mostly dropped the Captain Deplorable stuff and moved more into News/Opinion/Commentary, which is great!
I miss the impressions, but he’s a great voice in the MAGA community.
And as I always say, the solution to speech and opinions you don’t agree with is not to silence them but to have MORE speech and debate about those topics.
That’s the Country our Founders envisioned.
So I’m structuring this article around Shawn’s post from this morning.
You may 100% agree with Shawn.
You may 100% agree with me.
Or you may be somewhere in the middle.
But I think it’s a good debate to have.
Let me first lay out Shawn’s opinion and then I’ll comment a bit on it:
Long, but I ask that you please read this, as I believe it’s fair 👇

Long, but I ask that you please read this, as I believe it’s fair
Dan Bongino started in his current role as Deputy Director of the FBI on March 17th.
It is May 22nd.
It has been two months.
And a number of people who supported him have now turned on him because the entire FBI hasn’t been fixed, and everything THEY WANT DONE hasn’t been done within two months.
Everyone is up in arms about Epstein and Butler. They’re asking “what happened to Dan Bongino”
Here’s what happened: He got a new job. And in that job, Bongino isn’t in a position to publicly theorize anymore.
He’s bound by what is in the evidence file. Regardless of whether we agree with what’s in that file or not, he’d be violating his Duty of Impartiality to publicly theorize about things that are not supported by evidence in the official case file.
I still have questions about Epstein’s death, and about Butler, we all do, and rightfully so. Fine. WE can speculate. Dan Bongino can’t (publicly) in his current role. Dan is not a Podcast Host right now. He’s the Deputy Director of the FBI and is bound by different rules than we are.
The FBI has been involved in busting activist judges, pedophiles, illegal alien gang bangers, drug traffickers and human smugglers all while the top two at the FBI are getting their bearings in these new roles.
“Not good enough.”
It’s clear many of the people, mainly the online “influencers” who “supported” Bongino were doing it for selfish reasons. They thought they’d get something out of it.
With “supporters” as fickle as this, who needs detractors? It’s pathetic and disheartening to see it.
And if that’s not you, and you’re just frustrated with the pace, I get it. I just ask that you be realistic with your expectations.
The rot at the FBI is something that we all know will take more than two months to fix.
Dan Bongino walked away from a multimillion dollar media empire in the making. He put aside time with his family. He took a pay cut, and assumed a much tougher job than the one he had. He didn’t have to but he did it anyway.
I stand with Dan Bongino. As I always have. The knives are out. Pay attention to who is holding them. They’re the ones you need to worry about.
I’d like to respond to many of these things point by point.
I don’t expect I speak for everyone in “Group 1” nor does Shawn speak for everyone in “Group 2” and those Groups are very broad categories in the first place, but I’m going to lay out how I see things in direct response to some of the claims made by Shawn.
I do so in the spirit of free and open debate, and as I mentioned above with great respect for Shawn and his opinions and contributions to the community.
I would also welcome Shawn to do a show with me and discuss this further. We could live stream to my show, The Daily Truth Report, and to Shawn’s channel. Shawn, you game?
Ok, now allow me to respond.
SHAWN: “And a number of people who supported him have now turned on him because the entire FBI hasn’t been fixed, and everything THEY WANT DONE hasn’t been done within two months.”
Two points here.
Kash and Dan spent the last four years saying everything they would do if they got in, many times saying what they’d do “ON DAY ONE”. I didn’t say that. I didn’t set those expectations. They did. Mostly Kash, to be fair.
Perhaps no one literally expected things to happen on day one (although President Trump made similar promises and the man had the most epic day one anyone has ever seen, and hasn’t really stopped ever since). But perhaps “on day one” for Kash and Dan was not to be taken literally. Fair enough. But at this point to start asking some questions I do not think is unfair.
I also think it’s entirely unfair to categorize anyone who is starting to become skeptical as “turning on him”.
I question anyone who tells me I have to check my brain at the door, check my senses at the door, check my COMMON sense at the door, shut my mouth, and just show blind allegiance otherwise I’m “turning on” someone.
Ridiculous!
I’m rooting for Dan.
I like Dan.
I think Dan has good and strong moral character.
But when I see things that don’t look right, calling those into question is not “turning on him”. Completely unfair characterization.
I lived through the Jeff Sessions years.
I lived through the Bill Barr years.
And I can tell you I heard all the same things back then.
Actually, to be fair I was the one actually saying all those things back then.
“Just give Bill Barr some more time! He’s got this!”
And then at some point along the way, Trump ended up getting impeached twice, Bill Barr never “had this”, never came through, in fact he seemingly stabbed Trump in the back many times, and then it was all over. Bill Barr successfully thwarted President Trump’s agenda and ran out the clock. And ironically he was the original guy who told us “Jeffrey Epstein DID kill himself.”
So no, I’m sorry but I am not going to blindly support him without calling out things that I think look really bad.
It doesn’t mean I’m not still rooting for him.
Truth be told, I don’t think Dan is a bad man or doing bad work at all.
Truth be told, I’m actually extremely worried for him.
That interview he and Kash did with Maria Bartiromo looked HORRIBLE. It looked to me like someone who has been threatened and had his whole family threatened. It looked like a hostage video.
So am I “turning on him”?
Hardly!
But I know trouble when I see it and I’m allowed to call that out.
SHAWN: “Here’s what happened: He got a new job. And in that job, Bongino isn’t in a position to publicly theorize anymore.
He’s bound by what is in the evidence file. Regardless of whether we agree with what’s in that file or not, he’d be violating his Duty of Impartiality to publicly theorize about things that are not supported by evidence in the official case file.”
No one is asking him to theorize or violate any “duties” that may exist.
But I think it’s downright negligent to say he bound to what is in the evidence file.
Really?
You mean the evidence file that was almost certainly created and doctored by the very Deep State that Dan spent the last 4 years railing against on his show?
Really?
We’re just going to accept that evidence file hook, line and sinker?
Come on folks!
Where is your common sense?
Here’s the middle ground I would put forth on this point….
Dan did not have to come out and forcefully say this:
DAN BONGINO 2025:
He killed himself.
He— again, you want me to g— I’ve— I’ve— I’ve seen the whole file.
He killed himself.
Those are strong, definitive statements.
He stops just short of saying “case closed” but “case closed” is what’s implied by the defiant and dismissive way he said those statements.
All of you that want to make so many excused for him and tell me that Dan’s playing some version of 4D chess and parsing his words very carefully…I’m sorry but I just don’t buy it.
Respectfully speaking to all of you who hold that opinion, I believe you are suffering from extreme Cognitive Dissonance on this topic.
Your heart and your head are in extreme conflict and that’s why you’re taking the positions you’re taking.
Dan didn’t have to come out and make the statement he did, so defiantly and so dismissively.
He could have said something more like this (but he didn’t):
Look, I’ve reviewed the file and here’s what I can tell you…
The file says he killed himself.
We’re continuing to investigate. I still have questions. I know you still have questions. And if we learn something new in those investigations, I’ll be the first to tell you when I’m allowed to do so. But for now, I’m telling you what the file says.
You want someone parsing their words?
You want someone leaving the door open?
You want someone giving the community a wink and a nod that they know what they’re being told but they’re not fully buying into it?
THAT is how you do it.
Not the way Dan said it.
DanBongino2023 would not recognize DanBongino2025:

You want to honor Dan?
Act and think and speak like Dan-2023 would act, think and speak.
That honors Dan.
SHAWN: “The FBI has been involved in busting activist judges, pedophiles, illegal alien gang bangers, drug traffickers and human smugglers all while the top two at the FBI are getting their bearings in these new roles.
“Not good enough.””
I have written about this, and it is pure speculation, and I could be 100% wrong, I’m just telling you what I see from the outside and the dots I’m connecting based on body language and things that have occurred in the past 2 months and counting, and based on covering politics and how the Deep State operates for 10+ years, and here’s my theory….
Kash and Dan had horrible body language in that interview, so much so that it looked like a hostage video.
Again, that’s not me “turning on” Kash and Dan….
That’s me being very concerned and scared for Kash and Dan.
This body language expert breaks it all down here:
So my theory is Kash and Dan have been compromised in some way, I don’t think by bribery or blackmail, so I can only assume by threats to their families.
After the threats are made, a deal is extended by the Deep State, that goes something like this: We’ll allow you to stay in your roles, and we’ll give you a bunch of wins. You can shut down the Hoover Building (we’d like an upgrade anyway). You can arrest some activist judges (we’ll put new ones in later). You can arrest some pedos, some gangbangers, some drug traffickers and human smugglers! But….Butler, PA is case closed. Epstein is case closed. Got it?
That’s what makes sense to me.
And that’s what I expect to see over the next 4 years.
A bunch of arrests in those categories described above but absolutely nothing on Butler or Epstein.
I hope I’m wrong.
If I’m wrong, I’ll be the first to celebrate and go live on every single social channel out there saying I WAS WRONG! No one would be happier than me if that happened.
SHAWN: “It’s clear many of the people, mainly the online “influencers” who “supported” Bongino were doing it for selfish reasons. They thought they’d get something out of it.
With “supporters” as fickle as this, who needs detractors? It’s pathetic and disheartening to see it.”
I hope this is not aimed at me, I would take great offense if it is.
For all the reasons stated above, I am rooting for Dan. Expressing concern is not selfish and it’s not fickle.
I don’t say nice things about people “for selfish reasons” thinking I would get something out of it.
I know good guys when I see them, and Dan’s one of the good guys.
But just because I use my brain, my senses, and my common sense, does not mean I deserve to be called “fickle” and “selfish”.
Hopefully this is not aimed at me, I’ll assume it’s not.
SHAWN: “And if that’s not you, and you’re just frustrated with the pace, I get it. I just ask that you be realistic with your expectations.”
To clarify again, I am not “frustrated with the pace.”
I think Kash and Dan probably learned a big lesson that they vastly overpromised and set unfair expectations for themselves regarding the pace, I think even Kash and Dan would probably admit that.
Fine, lesson learned.
But even beyond that, we’re not “frustrated with the pace”, we’re worried that something is very, very wrong. We’re worried for them. See above.
SHAWN: “Dan Bongino walked away from a multimillion dollar media empire in the making. He put aside time with his family. He took a pay cut, and assumed a much tougher job than the one he had. He didn’t have to but he did it anyway.

Agreed.
I stand with Dan too.
Everything in these two paragraphs is true.
Dan has unimpeachable integrity.
He walked away from a great life and great career to take a huge pay cut and much tougher life. Very similar to President Trump.
But speaking up when something looks wrong does not always mean someone “has knives out”.
That’s unfair.
Sometimes you need to shine a light on something very bad. Sometimes that’s the right move, not blind allegiance.
And with that, that’s a wrap.
Shawn, should we rip open a couple mics and go live on this topic? Take come comments and calls from people? Talk it out? I think that would be fun!
Now let’s turn it over to you…
