Its amazing how much can be covered in media interactions when the President isn’t afraid of getting ‘in trouble’ from some advisor or another.
There could scarcely be a stronger contrast than the one between Trump and Biden… especially when it comes to media availability. You almost wonder if, sometimes, they wish he was just a little bit LESS available?
CNN’s Kaitlin Collins took the occasion of Trump meeting with El Salvadore’s President Bukele to ask the question that’s been burning in the minds of journalists (and other democrats). Will the El Salvadorian MS-13 gang-banger with a deportation order… the one the media portrays as a ‘Maryland Man’… be returned to America?
Even SCOTUS had the good sense to use nuanced language allowing for the fact that he is in a foreign country under the power of a sovereign government.
Here’s a five-minute segment where CNN and the other journos get taken to school on this issue, as one cabinet member after another dog-walk them though the facts of the case, with Bukele himself putting the cherry on top.
This is what leadership looks like. President Trump, Bukele, Marco Rubio, Pam Bondi, Stephen Miller — they’re standing up to the media’s absurd gotcha games. MS-13 isn’t coming back, and no amount of media spin will change that. America deserves safety, not soundbites from CNN. pic.twitter.com/9ILw20G8q3
