Democrats have been bastardizing energy for the better part of a decade. All because they figured out how to profit from the insanity.

I call their ideas insane for two reasons.

• First, they never have a provable final objective. They throw stats around that have no basis in science, and quite frankly were pull out of their asses. And when they deadline for doom and destruction is reached, Democrats explain why their insanity was still justified.
• Second, Democrats objectives are never reached, because they are impossible to reach. How do you possibly think you can make the transition to green energy and completely obliterate “black” energy? It’s not possible with the current technology.

There are other reasons to ignore the Left’s incessant green energy money-grab, but those two reason suffice for now.

Where do their policies lead?

Evaluate any Leftist energy policy and you get results that don’t work. Unless you enjoy blackouts, or unreliable energy, you would never go completely green. In almost any area where states went green, they experienced mammoth problems.

Take Texas for example. A state known for its proud heritage in dirty energy, oil country not known for succumbing to the “green weenies”, capitulated. And they paid for it, when a massive ice storm hit the state taking down the green grid.

Lucky for Texas, even though the storm was likely the worse winter storm in the state’s history, things could have been far worse. They could have completely Californicated leading to many more heartaches. In the end, that storm tallied 69 deaths, 44 hours of freezing, $18 billion in damage.

Check out these stats:

• Walmarts closed nationwide on Tuesday: Approx. 500, most in Texas
• CVS stores closed on Tuesday: About 775
• Residents in counties that reported weather-related operational disruptions: 14.9 million
• Number of Texas counties with affected public water systems: 159 of 254
• Average daily animal cruelty calls to Houston SPCA: 25-30
• Increase in fires during week of winter storm : 187%

Leftist energy policies ultimately end up with less reliable energy, higher energy prices, and a huge potential human toll.

The Gas Tax

And in another example of Leftist lunacy, look at their forward thinking on with the proliferation of electric vehicles (EVs).

Because of the lack of gas vehicles, all governments lost revenue in the form of the gas tax. The Left’s solution: tax people’s mileage. And again we learn how California plans to address its idiotic energy fiasco:

LOS ANGELES – How to go green without going broke? That’s the latest challenge in the alternative energy capital of California, where Democrats propose taxing the rich to make energy more equitable and affordable. To do so, lawmakers mandated utilities statewide begin billing ratepayers based not on how much electricity they use, but on how much money they make.

“This would be the first state to charge people based on their income rather than what they actually just use,” said Shon Hiatt, director of the USC Business of Energy Transition initiative.

“The problem here has been affordability. While California has focused almost completely on clean energy, it has disregarded reliability and affordability, and costs have continued to escalate. So, one of the (ways) they thought to address affordability (was), ‘Let’s just consider a tax and begin taxing people based on their income to address electricity rates.’”

A tax not on consumption, but on how much money a person makes. Bring on the “equity”.

Do well in your life, and pay for the indulgences of those who didn’t work as hard as you. How’s that for a strategy to hone people for success. But the real irony is a person who will get their electricity for free likely won’t ration it. They will use and overuse. But as long as they have the right ethnicity, gender, sexuality, i.e. intersectionality, they can use as much electricity as they want.

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) had until July 1 to impose the new rate structure. The state’s three main utilities — Pacific Gas and Electric, Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas and Electric — proposed a tiered rate plan.

Think the producers in California, the productive citizens, entrepreneurs, and so will will consider leaving the state over this nonsense? Almost 79,000 left California since the last census count. California is replacing each of them with illegals. How do you see this model playing out?
