Two Border Patrol agents who were involved in the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti on Saturday have been placed on administrative leave.
Bill Melugin of Fox News confirmed:
NEW: DHS confirms to @FoxNews that the Border Patrol agents involved in the deadly shooting of Alex Pretti in Minnesota have now been placed on administrative leave as part of standard protocol after a shooting.

The DHS says that this is part of “standard protocol” as the investigation continues.
It should be only temporary.

BREAKING: The two US Border Patrol agents involved in the sh**ting of Alex Pretti have been place on administrative leave, while an investigation is conducted.
Knowing the TRUTH about Pretti completely exonerates these officers. They were INTENTIONALLY provoked, and have been for MONTHS.
I stand with the BRAVE men and women of DHS!
Fox News reports that these two agents fired around a dozen shots, in total, at Pretti:
Video footage appeared to show him attempting to help a woman knocked down by agents, when he was sprayed with an irritant, pushed to the ground and beaten.
The footage showed an agent pulling Pretti’s suspected gun, a 9 mm pistol, from his waistband before other agents fired nearly a dozen shots in his direction.
One Border Patrol agent fired his CBP-issued Glock 19, and a second officer fired his CBP-issued Glock 47.
Before the shooting, agents were conducting operations as civilians in the area were yelling and blowing whistles, officials said. Authorities told the civilians to stay on the sidewalk to prevent them from impeding law enforcement actions.
Officials said Pretti “resisted” when authorities tried to take him into custody and a struggle ensued.
While this appears to just be standard procedure after an agent-involved shooting, it’s notable that the news contradicts Border Commander Gregory Bovino’s remarks about the agents over the weekend.
On Sunday, he said that the agents involved in the shooting had been transferred to another city, not put on administrative leave.
Politico reported:
Two Customs and Border Protection agents involved in the killing of Minnesota nurse Alex Pretti last week have been placed on administrative leave, the agency said on Wednesday.
The agency said the leave is “standard protocol.” But it appears to be a change in status for the two agents, who were not identified. Since-sidelined Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino on Sunday told reporters the agents were at work in other cities.
“All agents that were involved in that scene are working, not in Minneapolis but in other locations,” Bovino said. “That’s for their safety.”
After publication, an agency spokesperson said in a second statement that the officers had been on leave since Saturday, apparently contradicting Bovino. The agency did not immediately respond to questions about the change.
Hopefully, the agents will be able to return from administrative leave and continue their work at Border Patrol soon.
Perhaps, this will exonerate them:
