Maybe there was honey in the jar?
A bear in Wisconsin had its head stuck in a jar for over 12 days.
The bear was first spotted with a jar on its head in Sawyer County and was later freed from the jar by Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources officers nearly two weeks later.
People Magazine shared more details on the bear:
A 2-year-old female bear with a jar stuck on its head for over a week in northern Wisconsin was successfully freed.
According to a Monday, Aug.4 press releasefrom the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the 70-lb. bear was first observed with its head stuck in a jar in north central Sawyer County on Saturday, July 26
The bear started its journey in the town of Cable, before heading to Seely and north to Iron River, per KBJR, traveling nearly 50 miles.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Wildlife Services used the sightings across northern Sawyer County and southern Bayfield and Douglas counties to set several live traps for the bear.
They ultimately proved unsuccessful because of how far the bear had traveled each day, DNR said.
As days passed by, however, several public reports of the bear on Saturday, Aug. 2, and Sunday, Aug. 3, indicated it was likely returning to the area where it was first seen — the town of Cable, Wisc.
The prediction was proven right when Erik Donley and his nieces spotted the bear on Aug. 3 in Cable while spending the weekend in their family cabin.

“We heard about this bear being on our property about a week ago. I was talking to some friends, and lo and behold, she came out of the woods and started walking towards me,” Donley told KBJR.
Donley told the news station that his nieces called Bayfield County and the USDA while he followed the bear at a safe distance, “talking to it and waving his arms.”
A trained wildlife professional soon arrived and safely
According to the DNR, once the bear was sedated, USDA Wildlife Services staff were able to cut off the jug.

In 2020, a family in Wisconsin discovered another bear with a jar stuck on its head.
This bear was even swimming too:
