McDonald’s is rolling out a price promise on its combo meals in a bid to show Americans it still offers value.
Restaurants will keep the prices of eight popular combo meals 15 percent lower than if the items were purchased separately.
The deal, which includes combos featuring Quarter Pounders, Chicken McNuggets, and Egg McMuffins, will be in effect through next year.
The move, at company-owned locations and most franchises, comes as inflation and rising food costs have made fast food more expensive.
McDonald’s became the poster child for high fast food prices last year after diners complained of Big Macs meals costing $18.
The chain countered with a $5 four-item meal deal that launched last summer, though customers have since reported prices creeping up to $7 in some locations.
‘Customers are telling us they need more of the everyday value and affordability that defines the McDonald’s brand,’ said Joe Erlinger, head of McDonald’s US business.
Later this year, McDonald’s will also offer $5 breakfast deals and $8 Big Mac and McNuggets combo specials, under an Extra Value Meals banner.

Fast-food analyst Neil Saunders said McDonald’s steady rollout of deals and new menu items is crucial to bring customers back.
‘Many don’t think it’s worth the money, so they cut back on dining there. Offering more value options on the menu is a way of course correcting,’ Saunders told Daily Mail.
Visits to fast food restaurants in the US have fallen 2.7 percent so far this year, according to market-researchers Black Box Intelligence.
McDonald’s itself saw customers stay away in the January to March quarter, resulting in a rare 3.6 percent drop in US sales.
Extending its $5 value meal deal under a new McValue banner — along with the roll-out of McCrispy Strips and Minecraft Movie Meals — helped McDonald’s bounce back.
In the April to June period, sales rose 2.5 percent — also aided by extended operating hours made possible by its biggest hiring push since 2020.
McDonald’s rolled out a limited-time McDonaldland Meal and brought back its beloved Snack Wraps.
McDonald’s is also adding 900 new US locations by the end of 2027, and AI technology in thousands of restaurants.
McDonald’s has declined to comment about its combo meal price cuts.
