There is a right way and a wrong way to show political disagreement. But in the name of ‘activism’, protesters have been encouraged to default to confrontational ‘direct action’ to push results. This has consequences.

The Event at the Center of the Story

Congressman Max Miller — of Ohio — was driving in his car when another motorist pulled up beside him and began making aggressive gesture. It got worse from there.

Republican Rep. Max Miller of Ohio says he was nearly attacked Thursday by an “unhinged, deranged man” who had a Palestinian flag.

“The deranged hatred in this country has gotten out of control. Today I was run off the road in Rocky River, and the life of me and my family was threatened by a person who proceeded to show a Palestinian flag before taking off,” Miller, who is Jewish, wrote in a social media post.

Miller, who served as a reservist in the U.S. Marines and worked as a White House aide in President Donald Trump’s first administration before first winning election to Congress in northeastern Ohio in 2022, said he filed a report with the U.S. Capitol Police and local police. — FoxNews

Here’s the post where he explained the situation in his own words:

He even explains what the right steps are for airing a grievance with an elected official which, while not including a criminal act of road rage, would include the normal steps of placing a call and requesting an appointment to meet at your official’s office.

The person responsible has been identified and appropriate steps will be taken.

The Dems’ non-apology

It’s gotten to the point where even the party that openly threatened SCOTUS judges from the steps of the Supreme Court should they make the ‘wrong’ decision on pending Dobbs case (and then illegally protested their private homes) has had to make a formal condemnation of violence.

Careful readers will note that is not a blanket statement denouncing the more extreme aspects of the sometimes dangerously disruptive and violent anti-Israel protests that many Democrats have been enthusiastically encouraging.

It’s certainly not addressing the political rhetoric and the behavior of elected Democrats that has helped whip up violence against federal agents… including a few lawmakers and judges who have recently found themselves in handcuffs. It stops short of denouncing the slogans that echo the genocidal intention of the original 1988 Hamas charter, including the Globalizing of the Intifada, an explicit call to violent islamic religious jihad and the subjugation of non-believers.

No. It’s the same old tepid, generalized denunciation of non-specific political violence that refuses to admit culpability that we saw with Pelosi’s refusal to specifically censure Ilhan Omar’s racist rhetoric just a few weeks after Republican Steven King was denounced by everyone (even himself) for clumsy statements that were taken to be offensive, or the left’s repeated failure to condemn riots and political violence every time it just happens to further their political aims.

It really doesn’t matter if it’s Anitfa rioters, ICE rioters, BLM activists, Abortion activists, or Eco-extremists. When was te last time any of those browshirt activist enforcer groups was actually denounced with any specificity by the left?

In fact, if the left had it’s way, the candidate they wanted to hand the keys to the White House to in 2024 helped raise bail money for people arrested for … you guessed it… political violence.

What about the Gaza protests

As for the Watermelon emoji protesters with the Palestine flags that so many Democrats like to support?

Fun fact, the original Hamas charter we referenced above includes explicit instructions to sabotage peace initiatives between the West and Muslim or Arabic countries:

World Zionism, together with imperialistic powers, try through a studied plan and an intelligent strategy to remove one Arab state after another from the circle of struggle against Zionism, in order to have it finally face the Palestinian people only. Egypt was, to a great extent, removed from the circle of the struggle, through the treacherous Camp David Agreement. They are trying to draw other Arab countries into similar agreements and to bring them outside the circle of struggle.

The Islamic Resistance Movement calls on Arab and Islamic nations to take up the line of serious and persevering action to prevent the success of this horrendous plan, to warn the people of the danger eminating from leaving the circle of struggle against Zionism. Today it is Palestine, tomorrow it will be one country or another. The Zionist plan is limitless. After Palestine, the Zionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. When they will have digested the region they overtook, they will aspire to further expansion, and so on. Their plan is embodied in the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion”, and their present conduct is the best proof of what we are saying.

Why yes, that IS a reference to the racist and discredited ‘Protocols of the Elders of Zion’… as part of the moral justification for the antagonism against Israel.

What would *possibly* make someone believe this was a movement rooted in explicit racial animus?
