American ‘Toxic Masculinity’ Saves the Day. Again.

It is good to be reminded that good American men are not an endangered species. And while most good men are doing the quiet stuff off stage, when circumstance becomes crisis, a good man will rise to the occasion. Because masculinity.

Here at Victory Girls, we’ve covered masculinity many times, especially the Left’s war on normative men. But despite the relentless drumbeat of “We have to defeat toxic masculinity!”, we still get reminded how much we depend on it.

Police in Germany have arrested a 21-year-old Syrian national and accused him of involvement in the savage attack on American model John Rudat, who was beaten up and slashed across the face after he stepped in to help two women being violently assaulted on a tram.

John Rudat, 21, stepped in to stop the assault on two women on public transportation in Germany. He was beaten and stabbed in the face. John is also not afraid to address what he sees as the root problem.

In an interview after his release from a hospital, 21-year-old John Rudat told “Fox & Friends First” Wednesday he believes the attack highlights Germany’s failure to address immigration. He said he later learned one of the suspects, a Syrian asylum seeker already known to police, was arrested, released by prosecutors and arrested again. Another suspect remains at large.

“People have been telling me over the past 10 years [that] it has been getting worse and worse and worse. And, since this incident, thousands of people, especially women, have reached out to me claiming that they haven’t been feeling safe on the trams. They haven’t been feeling safe in their own home city, their own country,” he said.

“And I feel really bad for them because clearly, as I’m now seeing, it’s not only affecting the German citizens but the tourists going to Germany.”

John was really a bit more than just a tourist, having been an exchange student. He was in Dresden visiting his former host family when this incident took place.

Of note, John’s older brother is a law enforcement office and John has planned on pursuing a career as a paramedic. Service in protecting others seem to run in the Rudat family.

And that’s where we come full circle back to masculinity. The Left has made it part of their program to sneer at masculinity in total, regardless of whether it is toxic or not. The whole concept of the role of men as providers and protectors is one that is rejected by left-feminists as problematic. The Left’s rejection of American masculinity is so complete and baked in, the Democrats have decided they need to study today’s young men to find out makes young men tick.

Yet, before John Rudat, we had Daniel Penny, Spencer Stone, Alek Skarlatos, Anthony Sadler, Todd Beamer … and so many more. American men in the time-honored tradition of American masculinity of stepping up and stepping in when circumstances demand it. It still exists and we still need it.

And it’s something the Left will never accept.
