Alaska Senate Candidate Mary Peltola has announced to the world that her “Eskimo name” is an unpronounceable word called Akalleq, which means “the one who rolled.” She would like voters to know that this puts her ahead of the curve, as most Eskimo names are gender neutral or nonbinary, if you will.
You don’t need to know anything about her views after hearing this statement. She lost her House seat in 2024, and clearly, she is going for round two in the Senate.
According to Fox News:
In a two-minute video, Peltola cited “scarcity” and inflation as problems Alaskans currently face.
“Growing up, Alaska was a place of abundance. Now, we have scarcity,” Peltola said. “The salmon, large game, and migratory birds that used to fill our freezers are harder to find. So we buy more groceries, with crushing prices.”
Why is the left so arrogant that they believe their proposed policies will somehow increase the salmon and bird population? There is no law she can vote on that will do anything to save the world from this invisible evil, otherwise known as climate change, yet she believes that once she is appointed to the Senate, she will make this world a better place. That is a level of delusion only afforded to the most ignorant leftists.
Additionally, according to the left, Eskimo is an outdated, offensive term.
According to NPR, “People in many parts of the Arctic consider Eskimo a derogatory term because it was widely used by racist, non-native colonizers. Many people also thought it meant eater of raw meat, which connoted barbarism and violence.” Maybe she is immune to these leftist standards. Maybe she’s not. All that can be concluded is that she has a name, which means “The one who rolled.” Why this is something to be praised for is beyond reason, but it’s not like sense is too common with The one who rolled.
