University faculties are facing massive jobs loss from artificial intelligence. The long article in the URL above explores, many of the aspects of what appears to be the end of critical thinking and the end of an educated person. With AI available to answer all questions education is no longer needed to be able to function in the world, but as AI destroys jobs, the means for people to live in the world is lost. Possibly the situation can be saved by the socialization of all productive resources, and a guaranteed income is distributed to every member of the population. 

But the serious question remains. Who controls the data base that AI searches for answers? Whoever controls the database controls what will be perceived as the truth. AI presents itself as the basis for a dictatorial social and political system.

The employment problem that AI brings to universities will impact every other aspect of work and professional life. In effect AI eliminates human purpose. What is the point of a technology that eliminates human purpose? How does imagination flourish? How does creativity flourish? AI is the road back to barbarism.
