After a mostly quiet weekend, Iran has once again begun to launch counterattacks against the United States.

On Monday, rockets and drones launched by Iran hit a hotel in Baghdad where the U.S. embassy is housed.

Here are some videos of the attack:

Reuters broke the story of the attack:

Iraq’s interior ministry said on Monday that a drone ‌hit a hotel in Baghdad without causing casualties or material damages.

Security sources earlier said a drone hit Al-Rasheed hotel in the Green Zone, which houses governmental buildings and the U.S. embassy, as fire and smoke were seen rising.

After examination, it was determined a ‌drone had collided with the hotel’s upper fence, the ministry said, condemning any attempts to target diplomatic envoys in the country.

Security sources also earlier said two Katyusha rockets were fired at the U.S. embassy in Baghdad.

The U.S. C-RAM  system at the embassy was able to defend against most of the attacks:

The Times of Israel reported more on the attack:

Rockets and at least five drones were launched at the US embassy in Baghdad early Tuesday from areas around the city, Iraqi security sources say, describing the attack as the most intense since the start of the US-Israel war with Iran.

A Reuters witness saw at least three drones heading in the direction of the embassy. The C-RAM air defense system shot down two of them while a third struck inside the embassy compound, from which fire and smoke could be seen rising, the witness says.
