An ICE-involved shooting in Minneapolis on Wednesday has sparked local unrest, with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz urging residents to “remain calm.”

“My public safety team is working to gather information on an ICE related shooting this morning,” Walz said. “We will share information as we learn more. In the meantime, I ask folks to remain calm.”

The shooting took place at East 34th and Portland Avenue, with few details released, except that one person was shot.

Democrat Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said he is aware of the shooting as he slammed the Trump administration for sending federal agents to his city.

“The presence of federal immigration enforcement agents is causing chaos in our city,” said Frey.

“We’re demanding ICE to leave the city immediately. We stand rock solid with our immigrant and refugee communities.”
