Another day, another massive story of blue-state political malfeasance hidden by the Elitist Media nightly news. This time, there is not a peep about the exploding welfare scandal currently engulfing the state of Minnesota- which directly implicates some of its seniormost elected leaders.

Per The New York Post:

Hundreds of state workers at the Minnesota Department of Human Services publicly excoriated Gov. Tim Walz for allowing a “massive fraud” scandal to unfold under his watch and retaliating against their whistleblowers.

Over $1 billion in taxpayers’ money was fleeced by dozens of scammers in Minnesota’s Feeding Our Future fraud scandal, the largest known COVID-19 fraud case in the country.

“Tim Walz is 100% responsible for massive fraud in Minnesota. We let Tim Walz know of fraud early on, hoping for a partnership in stopping fraud but no, we got the opposite response,” the Minnesota DHS employees’ X account, which represents over 480 staffers, chided Saturday.

The story was originally broken by Chris Rufo, which lays out the multiple programs targeted by the scam, and its chilling end result: “The largest funder of (terror organization) Al-Shabaab is the Minnesota taxpayer.” The sheer scope of the scam has triggered investigations by both the House Oversight Committee, and the Department of the Treasury.

At my direction, @USTreasury is investigating allegations that under the feckless mismanagement of the Biden Administration and Governor Tim Walz, hardworking Minnesotans’ tax dollars may have been diverted to the terrorist organization Al-Shabaab.

In addition to Governor Tim Walz facing scrutiny, it is now alleged that Attorney General Keith Ellison is caught on tape accepting donations from multiple suspects of the Feeding our future scam and subsequently accepting campaign donations from them in exchange for stopping the fraud investigation. Per KSTP:

In the recording that was part of potential evidence in the Feeding Our Future trial but never introduced in the trial, Ellison is heard saying he would help them if state agencies tried to shut them down.

“This has my attention,” he tells the group. “I’m extremely frustrated by it, but we are in the middle of the battle with the agencies now. And I can tell you now (Governor) Walz agrees with me that this piddly, stupid stuff running small people out of business is terrible.”

This is, without a doubt, a scandal of massive proportions that continues to unfold. And yet, a search of the legacy nightly news over the past week yields absolutely nothing.

Had such allegations of corruption unfolded in, say, Florida you’d never hear the end of it. But, as is often the case with these things, they appear to be (D)ifferent. The double standard wins again.

Barring the related arrest of a very senior elected official, expect the legacies to say nothing about this scandal unless President Donald Trump says something about it, in which case the story becomes Trumpwashed and whatever wild thing Trump says about it becomes the scandal.
