President Trump on Friday commented about Rep. Thomas Massie’s (R-KY) recent marriage.

“Did Thomas Massie, sometimes referred to as Rand Paul Jr., because of the fact that he always votes against the Republican Party, get married already??? Boy, that was quick! No wonder the Polls have him at less than an 8% chance of winning the Election,” Trump said.

“Anyway, have a great life Thomas and (?). His wife will soon find out that she’s stuck with a LOSER!” he added.

More from the Lexington Herald Leader:

Trump has long feuded with Massie over the Northern Kentucky congressman’s contrarian, and very public, stances against him dating back to Trump’s first term.

Trump’s frustration with Massie grew this year with Massie’s objection to his budget bill and his foreign policy in the Middle East. It has inflamed most over the Epstein issue, with Massie leading the charge on the petition to force the release of the full files.

Currently, Trump and his political network are backing former state senate candidate Ed Gallrein in a primary challenge against Massie.

Massie, whose first wife, Rhonda, passed away in June 2024, announced his marriage to Carolyn Moffa earlier this month.

Rep. Thomas Massie Marries Former Rand Paul Staffer One Year After His Wife’s Death

“Carolyn and I would like to announce our recent marriage! We were legally married in Kentucky on October 19th by the pastor of the church we have been attending for several months. This weekend we celebrated with close friends and family at a Christian wedding ceremony in Pennsylvania where Carolyn is from,” a post from Massie’s campaign X account stated.

Carolyn Grace Moffa and I first met professionally over a decade ago when she worked for Senator Rand Paul. As Senator Paul’s Ag policy staffer until 2016, Carolyn was a very early proponent and practitioner of Making America Healthy Again. She even visited me and my late wife Rhonda on our grass-fed cattle farm several years ago. Carolyn has not previously been married. I have four adult children, who are all married to wonderful people, and three grandchildren from my blessed 31 year marriage to Rhonda who I still miss every day,” the post continued.

“We will reside on the farm in Kentucky where Carolyn recently helped me re-establish ducks and chickens to go with the beef cattle. We plan to travel back-and-forth to DC and throughout Kentucky as my congressional responsibilities require,” it added.

POLITICO noted:

According to Legistorm, Moffa worked as a staffer for Paul from 2011 to 2016, and then as a Maryland state manager for a Philadelphia-area distillery until 2017.

“Please pray for us as Carolyn steps into the arena with me,” Massie wrote. “With her support, I look forward to continuing my fight for freedom for the great people of Kentucky.

The marriage comes more than a year after the lawmaker’s late wife and high school sweetheart, Rhonda Massie, passed away. Massie announced her passing on social media in June 2024 without detailing the cause of death.

“Yesterday my high school sweetheart, the love of my life for over 35 years, the loving mother of our 4 children, the smartest kindest woman I ever knew, my beautiful and wise queen forever, Rhonda went to Heaven,” Massie said in the post last year.
