A federal judge (yes… that’s a real photo — not AI) has BLOCKED the family of accused terrorist Mohamed Soliman from being deported.

That is despite the fact they have overstayed their visas, which have since been revoked.

Homeland Security has detained the family following the attack on a prayer vigil being held for the remaining hostages in Gaza.

According to DHS the family’s deportation back to Egypt was on the verge of happening before the judge’s last-minute “emergency” order.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem put out this message just prior to the judge’s intervention:

Here is the full text of her post:

Today, @DHSgov and @ICEGov are taking the family of suspected Boulder, Colorado terrorist, and illegal alien, Mohamed Soliman, into ICE custody.

This terrorist will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We are investigating to what extent his family knew about this heinous attack, if they had knowledge of it, or if they provided support to it.

I am continuing to pray for the victims of this attack and their families.

Justice will be served.

The White House had even started celebrating the family’s deportation, in line with visa regulations:

Bill Melugin of Fox News broke the news along with the restraining order to halt the family’s deportation issued by Judge Gordon Gallagher:

The argument against the family’s deportation seems to center around the idea that they are being punished for Mohamed Soliman’s alleged crimes.

But there is also the issue of what they knew and when, considering DHS’s statements about a potential year-long planning stage for this attack.

Beyond that, there’s the simple issue of visas, which apparently expired in March:

There is absolutely no reason an Egyptian family which overstayed their visas should be allowed to remain in the United States simply because their case caught national attention… because the father / husband attacked a bunch of Jews praying for the victims of Islamic terror!

This is ludicrous!  Do these judges even hear their own rhetoric?

Do they ever step back and take in the big picture and how their myopic “emergency rulings” play in to the grand scheme of things!?

A friend of the family reportedly intervened on their behalf and sought the restraining order to halt the deportation, according to Fox News:

In an emergency ruling, a Biden administration-appointed federal judge in Colorado halted the deportation of the wife and five children of Mohamed Soliman, the Egyptian national under federal investigation for the Boulder firebombing attack on Sunday.

The temporary restraining order (TRO), issued by U.S. District Judge Gordon P. Gallagher, prevents federal immigration authorities from removing Soliman’s wife, Hayem El Gamal, and the couple’s five children from the country — at least for now.

“Defendants are temporarily restrained and enjoined from removing Hayem El Gamal and her five minor children from the State of Colorado or the United States,” Gallagher wrote in the order.

The order came after El Gamal’s friend, Susanna Dvortsin, sought emergency legal protection for the family. She argued that the family faced imminent deportation by the Trump administration without the opportunity to present their case in court.

The ruling will remain in effect until a scheduled hearing on June 13. (Emphasis added.)

I felt compelled to share a sarcastic tongue-in-cheek post by the Babylon Bee.

I believe they nailed down the issue with this satirical take on the Biden-era Judge blocking the deportation:

Yeah — it’s about like that.

Can we just follow the law for a change, please?

It’s really not all that complicated.  The visas expired, they failed to leave, now we HELP them leave.

That’s not so hard or complicated… is it?

Enough of these judges intervening every time the LAW IS FOLLOWED… just because someone doesn’t LIKE those laws!

Judge Gallagher’s entire position on this, judging from his own statement, seems to be looking out for the wellbeing of the Egyptian family — who has Egyptian, and not American, citizenship.

Surprise… surprise.

Would it be too much to ask that the judges in this country start looking out primarily for the AMERICANS?

The judge is more concerned about possible ‘harm’ to the family if they’re sent back home to Egypt, as reported by The Hill:

According to a DHS statement Wednesday, ICE was said to be “processing them for removal.”

“Moreover, the Court finds that deportation without process could work irreparable harm and an order must issue without notice due to the urgency this situation presents,” Gallagher wrote.

The DHS’s statement sheds new light on a White House social media post Tuesday that said the family “could be deported by tonight.”

Soliman, who has been accused of attacking Boulder demonstrators pushing for the return of Israeli hostages in Gaza, was charged with a federal hate crime after he admitted he spent a year planning it and singled out a group he called “Zionist,” according to the FBI.

Soliman and his family came to the U.S. in August 2022, with the defendant applying for asylum the next month.

According to the DHS, the family includes his 41-year-old wife, 18-year-old daughter and four other children still identified as minors, and the family has Egyptian citizenship. (Emphasis added.)

I’m starting to wonder if the most impactful drawdown the Trump Administration could make on the federal workforce would just be FIRING a few JUDGES.

It might not save as much money as eliminating entire agencies — at least not in the short term.

But in the long run, it might not only add up financially…

It could also single-handedly prevent the next big 9/11-style attack.

The alternative would be to allow these judges free reign to tread all over the Presidential obligation to protect Americans.

And we did NOT vote for THAT.
