(NewsNation) — One of the men who escaped from a New Orleans jail is pleading his case on social media, saying he did not escape and was, in fact, released.

Eight of the ten inmates who escaped from the Orleans Justice Center have been recaptured, and more than a dozen people have been arrested for assisting the men while on the run.

A video circulating on social media shows a man claiming to be Antoine Massey saying he was wrongfully accused. The man held up papers that he said corroborate his innocence.

In the video, he says he didn’t break out but was let out of jail.

The men escaped from a hole behind a toilet and Massey, along with Derrik Groves, have not been found. Authorities have warned the public that the men are armed and dangerous and that anyone found to be helping them will face punishment.

Authorities have not verified the video, though the man in the video has facial tattoos that match Massey’s.

The video includes a call for an investigation into his conviction and a plea for help from public figures, including President Donald Trump and rapper Meek Mill. The man also holds up a piece of paper that he says is a signed affidavit from the woman he is accused of assaulting that says the allegations are false.

One of the women accused of helping Massey and described by police as his “paramour” also suffered from years of physical abuse from him, court records show.

The woman, who had previously filed a protective order against Massey after he attempted to strangle her, was aware of his planned escape and later misled authorities, police say.

Massey has a history of domestic violence allegations and escaping from jail.

The FBI, U.S. Marshals Service and local police are continuing to search for Massey and Groves, including a reward of $50,000 for information that leads to the arrest of either escapee.
