President Trump just announced plans to build a grand, world-class ballroom inside the White House!

Speaking to NBC News‘s Kristen Welker, President Trump said, We are going to build a ballroom, which they’ve wanted for 100 years. It will be a world class, beautiful ballroom.”

Now, if you’re wondering if your tax dollars are going to be used to fund the new White House addition, the answer is no.

Even better, President Trump plans to pay for it out of his own pocket.

When asked if he would self-fund the addition, President Trump answered straight-up, “Yeah. I’m not going to ask the government for money.”

Watch here:

A White House ballroom has been an idea of President Trump’s for many years. He first pitched the idea to Obama, and he also suggested it to Joe Biden.

However, neither took him up on it.

The New York Post has more details:

“The ballroom is still in the design phase,” Wiles said of the president’s other planned renovation, “but he’s a builder, so I expect it to once, once the preliminary work is done, I expect it to go up pretty quickly.”

Trump has said he ran the $100 million ballroom idea by former President Joe Biden but “never heard back,” after making a similar pitch in 2010 to the Obama administration — but now he wants to move ahead of the renovation to create “more room” for hosting events without having to go under a large tent.

Knowing President Trump, this ballroom is going to be over-the-top exquisite. The epitome of elegance.

It remains to be seen what he will name it, but this social media user has some great ideas:
