Although the rise of the so-called “Squad” in Capitol Hill has given rise to a new class of young, far-left lawmakers, one rising name in the Democratic Party is attracting attention for just how crass her brand of political rhetoric has become.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has come under fire for a number of recent outbursts, and even leftist comedian Bill Maher couldn’t resist taking a shot at her over one profanity-laced, borderline incoherent remark.
As Fox News reported:
“And here’s Jasmine Crockett, who is, I thought, a big leader in the Democratic Party. Her quote is, ‘This is a terrible nightmare. Somebody slapped me and wake me the f— up because I’m ready to get on with it.’ On with what, would be my first question,” Maher reacted.
“And also, this is the way a leader- this is how a podcaster talks or some s—. ‘F— it, man.’ Can you imagine, I don’t know, Obama saying, ‘Oh, man, dude. This s— is whack. F— it. Slap me. I’m f—ing over it.’ C’mon man,” he continued.
Plenty of others have shared similar statements of disapproval regarding Crockett’s behavior:
“Texas, what are y’all doing? Are y’all really proud of the representation y’all get from Jasmine Crockett? I’m serious.”
“Jasmine Crockett is a racist, trashy, ghetto piece of a mess! Yep, I said it!”

Another incident exposing Crockett to a firestorm of her own making involved remarks about the perceived intelligence of President Donald Trump’s supporters.
As the Daily Caller reported last month:
“The fact that I’m rooting for Canada and I’m rooting for Mexico a lot is really wild, but they are really the ones that are speaking truth to power right now. They can see what it is and they were like, ‘We are not messing with this crazy regime from Mar-a-Lago,’ and basically calling them thugs. That’s what it is,” she told host Charlamagne.
Even for a left-wing lawmaker, this is an incredibly unwise thing to say. As far as I know, the wingers of the Democratic Party may hate America, but they never put it so bluntly. They never come out and say, “Yes, I am a member of Congress. My salary is paid for by you, the taxpayers, yet I actually hate this country, I hope it fails, and the countries to the north and south of us succeed instead.”
To add insult to injury, Crockett took a cheap shot at Republican voters, claiming they are “less educated” than Democrats.
“The less educated folk — and when I say educated, I’m not even talking about formal education, I’m talking about people that literally don’t want to read and enlighten themselves on facts — those are the people that typically vote for the Republicans,” the lawmaker said.
Here’s commentator Matt Walsh’s take on Crockett’s remarks following Trump’s Capitol Hill speech:
