Alexandra Pelosi, the daughter of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, took aim at First Lady Jill Biden as the war of words between the two families continued.

Last week, the outgoing First Lady shared her thoughts on the effort to remove her husband from the ballot after his disastrous debate performance back in June.  Pelosi has long bragged about playing a leading role, along with former President Barack Obama, in the backroom plot to oust President Biden following his disastrous debate performance back in June.

“Let’s just say I was disappointed with how it unfolded,” Jill Biden told the Washington Post. “I think that’s all I’m going to say.”

It turns out she had quite a bit more to say, however, as the Biden had particularly harsh words for Pelosi when asked about her role in the plot. “Disappointing,” she said in response to Pelosi’s media tour in the days following the June debate. During one particular appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” the former House Speaker stated that it was “up to the president to decide if he is going to run,” even though Joe Biden had already made it clear he was staying in the race and had clinched the nomination through the primary process.

“It’s been on my mind a lot lately, and —” the first lady told The Post. “We were friends for 50 years. It was disappointing.”

Pelosi said she “did what I had to do” when asked about pushing President Biden out while speaking with CNN during the Democratic National Convention back in August

Alexandra Pelosi did not take kindly to Dr. Jill’s comments and suggested that “Lady McBiden” should be more concerned with her husband’s legacy.

“If I was Lady McBiden, I’d put on my big girl pants, play the long game and think about my husband’s legacy,” the former speaker’s daughter told Jonathan Martin of Politico, noting that she was only speaking for herself. “There aren’t that many people left in America who have something nice to say about Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi is one of them.”

According to multiple reports from a wide range of outlets — as well as numerous confirmations from Pelosi — plot organizers had hoped for an “open primary process” in which a New Democratic Party nominee would be selected at the party’s convention in August. While Biden initially opted not to issue an endorsement in his resignation statement, which came via X post, he soon endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in a follow-up post just 20 minutes later.

Obama — who opted not to endorse Harris and said he was looking forward to an “open process” in a statement of his own — was reportedly “furious” with Biden’s decision to endorse the vice president. The nation’s 44th president had reportedly intended to throw his weight behind Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) at the convention, which took place in his hometown of Chicago.

Biden’s decision to endorse Harris was described as a “f**k you” to Biden and Pelosi for forcing him out, according to a report from the New York Post citing sources close to the Biden family.

After Vice President Harris was soundly defeated in November, Pelosi attempted to blame President Biden, stating that he should have dropped out of the race sooner. Biden has since told close aides that he regrets the decision to drop out and believes he would have defeated Trump had he stayed in the race.

Sources close to the Biden family told Politico that Pelosi’s attempts to mend the fence are not appreciated. “She’s been told they’re not over it, don’t make more overtures because he’s blaming her,” a person familiar with the feud between the two families said.
