In a time when we have people kneeling during the national anthem, we also have heroes out there risking their lives every single day to ensure our freedom. Contrary to the popular belief, freedom is most certainly not free.

It was that mindset that led firefighters in Anaheim, California to save an American flag from a burning building when they arrived and saw it flying on the roof.

The patriotic rescue has gone viral land for good reason! Despite what the left would like you to believe, many of us really do love our country and our flag.

Fox News Insider reports:

While battling the blaze, two firefighters spotted an American flag flying atop the building.

They managed to navigate the flames and smoke, reach the flag, take it down and fold it properly.

The flag, which was owned by a retired Los Angeles Police Department officer, was returned to him in “great condition,” according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Daron Wyatt.

It took approximately 80 firefighters more than two hours to put out the four-alarm fire. No injuries were reported.

Wyatt told reporters that “they got it before it was damaged.”
