I’ll start with a story…



I knew that shriek and sighed. It didn’t mean blood was flowing or the house was on fire. That could be fixed with a snap of my fingers.

I wondered who it was this time – Ruth? Tobby?

Mrs. Grundy stood on my porch, gripping the hand of a sobbing five-year-old child.


“Ma! I was aiming at Ruth!”

Grundy angrily gestured back at her house, now standing neatly on its roof, “Elizabeth, if this boy has ruined my baking …!!”

I waved her off. This was going to take my wand, my hat and a call to the Council.
