Venezuela’s fallen dictator Nicolas Maduro is now locked up at the infamous Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

And, of course, a left-wing crowd of protestors are gathered outside the jail to whine and complain about the U.S. taking military action in Venezuela.

Watch this:

Backup here, if needed:

PROTESTERS OUTSIDE MADURO’S JAIL: “WE WON’T PAY FOR WAR”

Outside the New York jail where Maduro is locked up, a crowd is yelling about U.S. airstrikes in Venezuela and waving signs that say “We won’t pay for war.”

Yes, while the literal dictator sits in federal custody.

They’re protesting the military action that led to his capture, ignoring the 3,000+ political prisoners, the media blackouts, and the $1.5B drug trafficking case that helped land him in the U.S.

Apparently, they’re mad the U.S. actually did something.

Of course it’s not the first time something like this happens, there’s always a group that freaks out when a brutal regime gets taken down, especially if the U.S. has anything to do with it.

Some think Maduro was just misunderstood, and others just see “U.S. airstrikes” and short-circuit.

This was a coordinated op after years of sanctions, indictments, and international pressure; the capture was actually the last move since U.S. ran out of alternatives.

And most Venezuelans? They’re not crying for Maduro, in fact they’re celebrating.

Protesting outside the jail of a narco-dictator who starved his country into collapse is a wild choice.

Welcome to 2026.
Yes, really.

Leftists are now supporting an actual dictator.

Keep in mind that these were the same people holding ‘No Kings’ protests across the country just a few months ago.

How ironic.

ABC 7 New York has more details on why these people are protesting Maduro’s capture:

On Sunday there were protests outside the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn where Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro remains locked up.

They called him the ‘People’s President’ and gathered outside in Sunset Park to demand authorities immediately release him

“I really want to protect the rule of law,” said one demonstrator.

Many felt that the rule of law was violated early Saturday morning when President Trump gave the green light to bomb parts of Caracas and physically remove the Venezuelan leader from power.
You just can’t win with these people.

Oh well.

Cry harder.
