Sunday Thoughts: Will You Vote Out of Love or Hate?

We have finally arrived at the final weekend before the momentous and pivotal 2020 presidential election. It has been exhausting, to say the least. The debates have concluded, all the policy positions have been made, as well as the endless political advertising. For those who have already voted and those who have not yet voted, one perhaps should take a moment and reflect on why you voted for whom you voted for. Not just on a policy basis, but on your psychological state of mind.

Did you vote out of love for your candidate and their ideas? Or was it hate?

It seems to the Right Wire Report that one could define two groups of people based on love and hate, juxtaposed to the political parties one voted for. For example:

Democrats – have little enthusiasm for Joe Biden based upon attendance at his campaign rallies. Did the news media speak to what Joe Biden will do for the country? Or exposed the nefarious activities he has participated in – where is Hunter Biden? Democrats are motivated by one thing – their hatred of Donald Trump and his supporters. They repeatedly talk about how evil and terrible our country is. Do they even love America? This hatred is not only verbal but by their actions as well. The political violence and property destruction by the Left in the run-up to this election has been unparalleled in our country’s recent history. It has been pure hate and anger.

Republicans – have huge positive enthusiasm for Trump and love of country. Trump’s rallies are more frequent and heavily attended with joy and excitement. Trump supporters rarely engage at street level with their political opponents – but will defend themselves if attacked. For Democrats, it is their main political strategy – and do so with anger and violence. Republicans are always ready to engage in meaningful debate to encourage understanding with their political opponents if they can ever get Democrats to listen. Conservative ideology is one of love and encourages people to accept the moral challenge to build a better society – click here for one example.

Perhaps Democrats would disagree with this analysis, but watch the following videos and ask yourself – do these folks speak out of love or hate?

Listen here, to the racist rant from MSNBC’s Jon Meacham about Trump voters, “Trump appeals to “Lizard Brain White Guys.”

This vile hatred from Democrats started a while back, but it went mainstream in 2016. The then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton “called half the country deplorable and irredeemable.” It was an attempt not just to criticize her opponent Trump, but his supporters as well. This was something new that we have not really seen in past political campaigns. There was no attempt to win over voters, rather dehumanize them and mark them for elimination from society. It had an eerie 1930s fascist feeling to the approach.

Sometimes Democrats think they can be clever. Though they really could care less about Christianity, they often try to “cherry-pick” Biblical text to use against conservatives, as they know many of them are religious. In that light, what does the Biblical text say about love and hate? Here are a few Biblical references to hate and love. Here is one of my favorites concerning love: John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Now that’s a rather high bar to attain.

By no means can Republicans say they are perfect in this respect, but they are the party that supports strongly our military, police, and first responders. These folks lay their lives down every day for we Americans out of love for our country. But what have we seen from Democrats this past summer – demonizing those who are on the front lines that protect us. Would you see Democrats at a Back the Blue rally? Instead, they have shown their hatred towards them.

Another thought one could consider – what takes more effort – love or hate? It is quite easy to hate – it does not require one to do anything to improve. Love requires outgoing self-sacrifice. Tearing things down out of hate is much easier than building things out of love. In politics, this manifests itself by many Democrats buying votes with free unpaid government services – free healthcare, free education, welfare, or free money, etc … To require a proper budget or to defer gratification requires a higher level of responsibility. But out of love, these responsible policies can build a better society.

Some on the Left have evil intent, but not all. However, by no means, most Republicans do not hate Democrats. Instead, we stand ready to engage in meaningful dialogue. For some, hatred is a mental illness – something that we should want to improve upon – see here, Americans On The Couch For A Mental Health Intervention Before It’s Too Late. The Right Wire Report hopes that when you go out to VOTE this November 3, you think carefully about whether you are voting out of love and not hate.
