OpenAI founder Sam Altman had another security scare on Sunday morning.

On Sunday, two suspects were arrested after opening fire at Sam Altman’s home in San Francisco, California.

The shooting comes just a day after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the tech founder’s mansion.

Newsweek reported more on the shooting and identified the suspects of the shooting:

Two suspects have been arrested for negligent discharge after a possible shooting outside OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s home.

Authorities arrested 25-year-old Amanda Tom and 23-year-old Muhamad Tarik Hussein after officers responded at 2:56 a.m. on Sunday to a possible shooting at a residence in Russian Hill, a San Francisco Police Department release said.

Officers learned that a vehicle with two occupants drove past the residence around the time and investigators later identified the vehicle as belonging to Tom, police said.

The police release did not name Altman, but the location was identified by the San Francisco Standard, citing an initial police report.

Newsweek reached out to OpenAI and the SFPD by email to comment on this story outside of normal business hours.

AOL reported more on the previous attack on Altman’s home:

The 20-year-old suspect arrested after the Molotov cocktail attack on Sam Altman’s $27 million home participated in a Discord server critical of AI development.

PauseAI said the suspect, identified by several outlets as Daniel Alejandro Moreno-Gama, joined its server two years ago. The nonprofit organization is focused on temporarily pausing the development of frontier AI models — like OpenAI’s GPT-5.4 — and mitigating the risks they pose.

“Violence against anyone is antithetical to everything we stand for,” the statement on its website.

The organization said Moreno-Gama posted a total of 34 messages in the Disc

Authorities in San Francisco booked Moreno-Gama at 12:47 p.m. on Friday, and he’s facing several charges. The charges include arson of an inhabited structure or property and attempted murder.

A San Francisco Police Department spokesperson said officers responded to a North Beach residence just after 4 a.m. local time to investigate a fire. The fire was contained to the exterior gate, and there were no injuries, according to the spokesperson.

The suspect fled the scene on foot. His description was later broadcast to all SFPD officers.
Altman has yet to address the attacks publicly.
