President Donald Trump signed his first veto on Friday after 12 Republicans sided with Democrats in the Senate to block his national emergency declaration on the southern border.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) just announced she is going to try to override Trump's veto — which is a crazy idea.

The emergency is that the Congress refused to fund the wall.

If lawmakers had done their job, the declaration would never have happened.

On March 26, the House will once again act to protect our Constitution and our democracy from the President's emergency declaration by holding a vote to override his veto. #FakeEmergency

He tried several times to get the funding with an agreement that would give the Democrats a path to citizenship for DACA, and they would not agree. (DACA stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. The Obama-era program allowed qualified recipients a temporary reprieve from deportation. DACA expired last spring; the recipients are a subset of dreamers, which stands for the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act. The illegal immigrants known as dreamers were brought to the country as children.)

But the Dems don't seem to care about those DACA kids; they use them just as they do other special interest groups to gain votes.

The wall may not be a 100 percent guaranteed solution, but doing nothing is a 100 percent guaranteed road to failure.

President Trump made the correct decision to declare a national emergency and the correct decision to veto the resolution.

It is the executive branch that is responsible for the security of the nation, not the legislative branch or the judicial branch.

President Trump is doing his job as assigned to him by the U.S. Constitution.

Moments ago, President Trump signed a VETO of the resolution introduced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to block the national emergency declaration for our crisis on the southern border.

“Today I am vetoing this resolution,” said Trump. “Congress has the freedom to pass this resolution and I have the duty to veto it and I'm very proud to veto it.”

Trump's reelection campaign began fundraising off the veto early Friday afternoon, sending out an email asking supporters to donate to an “Official Wall Defense Fund.” Homeland Defense Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, Attorney General William Barr and Vice President Mike Pence were among those who praised Trump's veto during the Oval Office ceremony.

Shortly after the veto was official, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the vote to potentially override the veto would occur on March 26, saying “House Republicans will have to choose between their partisan hypocrisy and their sacred oath to support and defend the Constitution.” (source: Yahoo News)
In 2017, there were 46 times as many apprehensions of illegal aliens on our southern border as there were on all of the borders combined. Dems say it isn't a problem.

What's the Dems' motive for saying it isn't a problem?

Republican senators, who think they'd be setting a precedent for the Dems to use if their positions were reversed, are delusional, in my opinion. Do they believe the Dems wouldn't declare an emergency if it were to their advantage regardless of this issue because it would set a precedent?

Do you think the “power of the pen” last president didn't override Congress whenever he wanted to?

There's a reason Congress has such an abysmal approval rating — and it's on both sides of the aisle.
