During a press conference on Thursday afternoon, Vice President JD Vance absolutely destroyed the media’s latest fake sob story.
For some background, establishment media outlets have been crying outrage over ICE “detaining” a 5-year-old boy named Liam Ramos.
If that were true, then of course, it would be horrible. A child that young should never be arrested by ICE.
The problem is, it was another lie.
In reality, ICE didn’t detain this child. They actually saved him by taking him in after his illegal alien father ran off, abandoning him in the cold.
ICE was quick to shut down the story with facts:

On January 20, ICE conducted a targeted operation to arrest Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias. As agents approached the driver Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, fled on foot—abandoning his child. For the child’s safety, one of our ICE officers remained with the child while the other officers apprehended Conejo Arias.
Our officer’s made multiple attempts to get the mother inside the house to take custody of her child. Officers even assured her that they would NOT take her into custody. She refused to accept custody of the child. The father told officers he wanted the child to remain with him.
Our officers primary concern during the entire operation was the safety and welfare of the child. Following the mother’s abandonment of the child, officers abided by the father’s wishes to keep the child with him. Father and son are together at Dilley.
Parents are asked if they want to be removed with their children, or ICE will place the children with a safe person the parent designates. This is consistent with past administration’s immigration enforcement. Parents can take control of their departure and receive a free flight and $2,600 with the CBP Home app.

That was a LIE then and it’s a LIE now. Both children were ABANDONED by their criminal illegal alien parent who put the child’s life in danger by leaving him/her behind and fleeing.
Lies like these discredit the work of our brave men and women of @DHSgov
who are enforcing federal immigration laws.
But, that didn’t stop a fake news reporter from asking VP Vance about the 5-year-old getting “detained” by ICE.
Luckily, Vance had done his homework.
He explained to the press that ICE rescued this poor, abandoned kid from his neglectful dad who fled without him.

The Washington Post was forced to update their original story with the facts:
Five-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his father, whom the Department of Homeland Security identified as Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias in an emailed statement, were detained in their driveway Tuesday afternoon, just as they were returning from the child’s preschool, according to a news release from Columbia Heights Public Schools.
The father fled on foot when ICE officers approached him, DHS said. “For the child’s safety, one of our ICE officers remained with the child while the other officers apprehended Conejo Arias,” it added.
After detaining the father, ICE officers then asked Liam to knock on the door to see if any other people were inside the home, “using a 5-year-old as bait,” according to the school district.
Another adult living in the home who was outside at the time, “begged the agents” to leave the child with them, the school district said. ICE agents refused.
Liam’s middle-school-aged brother returned home 20 minutes later to find that his younger brother and father had been taken away.
Liam and his father are now in San Antonio in the custody of Homeland Security authorities, the family’s lawyer, Marc Prokosch, said in an email. They are not U.S. citizens but “have been following the legal process perfectly, from presenting themselves at the border to applying for asylum and waiting for the process to go through,” he said.
By the way, Hillary Clinton was one Democrat who whined about the fake story on X.
ICE replied directly to her post with this savage response:

If Democrats really care about the children, then why do they try so hard to protect dangerous illegal aliens? Some of whom are even child molesters and predators?
