Martha MacCallum, regularly a well-spoken and thoughtful Fox News host, was left nearly speechless as Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) repeatedly insisted in a Tuesday night interview that nothing in the Steele dossier has been disproven.

“It doesn't bother you that the Clinton campaign paid for a dossier to be put together by someone who had all kinds of ties to intelligence, and put together something that turned out to be not necessarily factual?” she asked.

“Which part hasn't been proven factual?” Swalwell countered.

MacCallum noted that Steele himself had called the dossier “not a finished work product” — to which Swalwell remarkably continued asking what part isn't accurate.

Three times.

“I mean, are you serious?” she responded.

Factual means something has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Clearly, none of the salacious aspects of the Steele dossier have ever been corroborated at any point.

As MacCallum correctly noted, the document also claimed that former Trump attorney Michael Cohen had taken a trip to Prague to meet with Russians — something that has never been proven true.

Crazy Eric Swalwell is on Martha MacCallum's announcing he believes the dossier is true. LOL #dossiertruther

Cohen has repeatedly shot down that aspect of the dossier, even testifying before Congress in a hearing meant specifically to damage President Trump that he has “never been to Prague” and “never been to the Czech Republic.”

Political strategist Mark Penn writes that the Steele dossier “was clearly preposterous, making easily disproved, wild and salacious accusations that had not been verified and would never be verified.”

Even MSNBC panelists had to admit that the Mueller report has debunked much of it.

“I think one of the reasons people were so surprised by the Mueller finding is that it undercuts almost everything that was in the dossier, which postulated a well-developed conspiracy between the Russians and the Trump campaign,” reporter Michael Isikoff surmised.

Resign in disgrace. Following Swalwell's sad display, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) mocked the Intelligence Committee member.

Nunes said Democrats were constantly searching for a “Russian ghost somewhere,” comparing it to “trying to find a chupacabra.”

Russian collusion delusion kook @ericswalwell just told @marthamaccallum that nothing in the debunked Steele dossier had disproven.

“Are you serious?” MacCallum asked.

“This guy is a Chupacabra hunter,” @DevinNunes mockingly responded. “There's always a new ghost to hunt.”

Fox News host Tucker Carlson has said Swalwell and House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, two of the more prominent Democrats to insist that Russian collusion is still a thing, “should resign.”

“How can Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff keep their seats in the House of Representatives?” he asked.

Their continued insistence in chasing the collusion unicorn has no doubt left many people asking the same thing MacCallum did – Are you serious?
