Martha MacCallum has been a familiar presence on cable news leader Fox News for years, but that doesn’t mean she’s willing to let her guests get too comfortable with her on the air.

That was apparent during a recent exchange with guest Randi Weingarten, the president of the American Federation of Teachers.

The two were discussing a current U.S. Supreme Court case involving LGBT-specific curriculum being taught in Maryland schools when Weingarten crossed the line with MacCallum.

As the Daily Wire reported:

Weingarten argued that scores were going up in Massachusetts and down in Florida — which she claimed was proof that Florida’s anti-“woke” model was not working and that throwing more money at education was the answer. MacCallum pushed back, saying that Newark, New Jersey — where per capita student funding was among the highest in the nation — suggested otherwise.

But as MacCallum was trying to make her point, Weingarten attempted to shut her down: “Martha, Martha, sweetheart, sweetheart, listen to me —”

“Please don’t call me sweetheart,” MacCallum objected, clearly fed up.

“I’m sorry — my bad,” Weingarten backpedaled, but continued to claim that education problems could be fixed with more money.
Discussion of the Mahmoud v. Taylor case has spilled over onto social media in recent days:

@PenguinBooks is afraid parental rights (Mahmoud v. Taylor) will prevent them from publishing books like this. (Ages 8-12) pic.twitter.com/CkvfzOgCUG

Parents should never have to #OptOut their kids from porn & pedophilia in public schools. Montgomery County Public Schools' arrogance in denying #parentsrights should be smacked down by SCOTUS. Try teaching kids. Stop grooming them. #MahmoudvTaylor pic.twitter.com/LCJWMvW4ex

The US Sun also reported on the clash between MacCallum and Weingarten:

FANS are praising Fox News host Martha MacCallum for quickly shutting down a guest who interrupted her with ‘condescending’ remarks.

MacCallum, 61, was caught in a heated discussion with Teachers Union President Randi Weingarten when the guest began to interrupt her mid-sentence.

The two were discussing the Maryland parents who brought their children’s public school to court, demanding that the school remove their children from elementary school classes using storybooks with LGBTQ characters.

The books included titles such as Uncle Bobby’s Wedding and The Prince and Knight.

MacCallum was discussing the issue with Weingarten, who supported having diverse books such as the above titles in the school.

MacCallum brought up Maryland’s education rankings and began arguing that schools should focus on reading and math, not improving the diversity of the book choices.
And here’s a clip from the recent interview:

After repeating over and over that she's fighting for respect for women, awful union boss Randi Weingarten then sounds like an old 1970's Lou Grant calling Martha McCallum "sweetheart":pic.twitter.com/YgsD5JHDC1
