President Trump is still working despite testing positive for COVID-19, according to reports, and the Supreme Court confirmation for Amy Coney Barrett will not be hindered.
White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows reported that the President and First Lady Melania Trump “remain in good spirits.”
“The president does have mild symptoms, and as we look to try to make sure that not only his health and safety and welfare is good, we continue to look at that for all of the American people,” he told reporters.
Melania told supporters earlier that she too is experiencing “mild symptoms.”
“Thank you for the love you are sending our way,” she tweeted. “I have mild symptoms but overall feeling good. I am looking forward to a speedy recovery.”

Meadows proceeded to say that President Trump “continues, not only to be in good spirits but very energetic” despite those symptoms.
“He is certainly wanting to make sure that we stay engaged,” Meadows reported.
The White House Chief of Staff went on to declare that Mr. Trump is “staying committed to working very hard on behalf of the American people.”
“His first question to me this morning was, ‘How is the economy doing?’ ‘How are stimulus talks going on Capitol Hill?’” recalled Meadows.
“He is going to remain on the job and I am optimistic he will have a very speedy recovery.”
Trump Supreme Court Nomination Is a Go – McConnell
Much to the dismay of Democrats perhaps, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has indicated the Supreme Court nomination of Amy Coney Barrett is proceeding unabated.
McConnell said he had spoken to the President on the phone and was pleased to hear “he’s in good spirits.”
“Full steam ahead with the fair, thorough, timely process that the nominee, the Court, [and] the country deserves,” McConnell declared.
Barrett herself was diagnosed with coronavirus this summer but is now fully recovered, according to the Washington Post.
Barrett is tested on a daily basis the report states and most recently had a negative diagnosis for coronavirus on Friday morning.
