David Hogg has jumped at every manufactured chance to promote his ill-informed thoughts on gun control, and now he and his sister, Lauren, have inked a book deal with Random House with a planned release date of June 5.
According to a statement from David, the book is called “#NeverAgain,” and will tell “the story of the foundation of this movement for those we lost.” Hopefully, the Hoggs have a ghostwriter, because that sentence is hardly intelligible.
Today @lauren_hoggs and I are announcing our book #NeverAgain that tells the story of the foundation of this movement for those we lost. Lauren and I will be using the money made from the book to help heal the community. #NeverAgain out June 5th https://t.co/Vh2gWVWNGq

Lauren also tweeted out a grammatically incorrect statement about the book.
Announcing #NeverAgain, a book by @davidhogg111 and I that tells the story of how we turned our grief into action and how we fight and speak out for those who no longer can. All proceeds going to healing Parkland and to prevent gun violence. Coming out June 5th.

Notably, Penguin Random House's website describes the book as a “manifesto”:
This book is a manifesto for the movement begun [February 14, 2018], one that has already changed America–with voices of a new generation that are speaking truth to power, and are determined to succeed where their elders have failed. With moral force and clarity, a new generation has made it clear that problems previously deemed unsolvable due to powerful lobbies and political cowardice will be theirs to solve. Born just after Columbine and raised amid seemingly endless war and routine active shooter drills, this generation now says, Enough. This book is their statement of purpose, and the story of their lives. It is the essential guide to the #NeverAgain movement.
There's no question that this book will be chock full of ill-informed diatribes against gun ownership. Hell, the title itself is ill-informed. Have David, Lauren, and the publishers at Random House really forgotten the origin of the phrase “Never Again”?
Is it fair to say you are cheapening the phrase Never Again with this? Remember the Holocaust?

“Never Again” has a sacred meaning already. Please use a different name for your book.

I have soooooo many problems with politicizing the phrase #NeverAgain. It's a term used to memorialize the Holocaust (and, to a lesser extent, to memorialize the victims of the September 11th attacks). It is deeply gross to use that phrase to push for a divisive political agenda. https://t.co/vr2utXER8h

It is simply obscene for a gun control movement to use the motto #NeverAgain
Read a history book about how the Nazis disarmed the Jews before murdering them

Of all the titles you could have chosen, stealing NEVER AGAIN from the Holocaust? Are you kidding? Five million lost souls and their descendants are not pleased. pic.twitter.com/LKMW08gULG

Disturbingly, this isn't even the first time the Hogg siblings have been on the wrong side of the Holocaust. Last month, they faced criticism for wearing Nazi-esque armbands to promote their gun control movement.
Share this if you're disgusted by David and Lauren Hogg's book!
