The FBI has broken up a plot to take out a senior ICE Official — allegedly orchestrated by a gang leader in Chicago.
Juan Espinoza Martinez is a suspected Latin Kings leader operating out of the Windy City, and is now in federal custody.
He has been ARRESTED and is being charged with putting a bounty on the head of the Operational Ground Commander of “Operation Midway Blitz”, which is currently rolling up illegals in Chicago.
Here’s the photo put out by DHS showing Martinez’s arrest:

The bounty is being explained as an either/or hit by DHS — meaning the plot called for taking the Operational Commander either dead, or alive.
Just two weeks ago Cmdr. Gregory Bovino appeared on Fox News pushing back hard against Illinois Gov. Pritzker’s criticism of President Trump’s plan to clean up Chicago.
No wonder the leadership of the Latin Kings wanted him dead!
The ICE Commander shared this clip, highlighting his strong stance in alignment with President Trump’s anti-crime and immigration agenda:
The plot to capture or kill Cmdr. Bovino was allegedly the brainchild of Martinez, who didn’t just target the ICE leader based on his position. While some choose to prioritize illegal aliens over citizens, we believe the rule of law and our citizens should be first.#DHS #CBP #BorderPatrol #ICE #Chicago #OpMidwayBlitz pic.twitter.com/yF470H4pky![]()

The bounty came as a direct response to last Saturday’s violent interaction in a Chicago neighborhood when multiple vehicles SWARMED a patrol of federal agents, according to DHS.
That ambush led to one armed attacker wounded when the agents opened fire on her during the altercation, which we covered here:
DHS says they have evidence it was that incident that led to Martinez putting out the capture or kill bounty on Cmdr. Bovino.
Martinez also allegedly ordered gang members under his command to 'patrol' the area where that incident took place, looking for a fight with federal agents -- as reported by Fox News:
As the plot was brewing yesterday and the FBI was actively working to capture those responsible, Tricia McLaughlin with DHS spoke to the issue on Fox Business News.Federal agents in Chicago on Monday arrested a suspected Latin Kings leader accused of offering cash bounties to capture and kill a senior immigration officer working with "Operation Midway Blitz."
Martinez was taken into custody Monday morning, though his initial court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
U.S. Attorney Andrew S. Boutros called the alleged plot "an attack on the rule of law."
According to the complaint, Martinez is a ranking member of the Latin Kings, a gang notorious for violent crimes and drug trafficking across Chicago.
The complaint says a confidential source told investigators that after a police-involved shooting on Oct. 4, 2025, involving Border Patrol agents in Chicago’s Brighton Park neighborhood, Martinez sent Latin Kings members to 39th and Kedzie in response.
The source said Martinez ordered members to obtain firearms and patrol the area around 26th Street and South Drake Avenue to defend Latin Kings territory.
But in the segment which aired yesterday, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was featured before McLaughlin's comments.
According to Noem, this is not a single isolated incident.
Notice in this clip that she highlighted there is a PLURALITY of Federal Agents currently being targeted with bounties on their heads:

This is the account he purportedly used to put out the call to capture or assassinate Cmdr. Bovino:
In the clip Bovino shared from his appearance on Fox News, he emphasized the danger that officers face every day on Chicago streets.“10k if you take him down.”

Knowing that danger, Bovino's attitude towards the mission even yesterday as the plot against him unfolded was seemingly unfazed.
Check out this video he shared to his X account on Monday, hyping up the dangerous mission taking place on the streets of Chicago under his leadership:
That's certainly not a man who is easily deterred from his sworn duty. From dawn to dusk, and through the night, we carry out our duty: enforcing the law and protecting the people we serve.![]()

The man just had a CAPTURE / KILL bounty put on his head by a notoriously violent gang, and what's his response?
An absolutely bangin' hype video.
Could it be that the illegal criminal element in Chicago underestimated who they were picking a fight with?
As noted, Martinez allegedly used Snap Chat to communicate the murder-for-hire plot to those under his command.
In those messages he purportedly offered $2,000 for capturing the ICE Commander.
And a larger $10K bounty for killing him, according to this report from the New York Post:
Thankfully someone -- we don't know whether it came from a source that may have infiltrated the Latin Kings -- alerted authorities to the plot against Bovino.A Latin Kings gangbanger allegedly put a bounty hit out on Border Patrol chief Gregory Bovino – firing off a Snapchat message that read, “10k if u take him down.”
Juan Espinoza Martinez, a 37-year-old Mexican living in the US illegally, was nabbed Monday in Burr Ridge, a Chicago suburb, after the feds were tipped off to the alleged murder-for-hire plot, authorities said.
In the Snapchat conversation, the ranking street gang member included a photo of Bovino and placed a $2,000 bounty for his capture, according to a criminal complaint.
The message, which was written in Spanish, read “cuando lo agarren,” which translates to “when they catch him.”
In a follow message, he allegedly offered “10k if you take him down.”
Authorities became aware of the alleged hit after a source sent them a screenshot of the messages last week, court papers charge.
Homeland Security said Martinez is from Mexico and entered the US illegally at an unknown date and time.
He was arrested for soliciting the murder of a senior law enforcement official, the feds said.
Bovino has been spearheading “Operation Midway Blitz” that has seen federal troops descend on Chicago in recent weeks as part of a crackdown on illegal immigrants.
But the arrest of Martinez doesn't necessarily end the threat from the bounty; that danger will persist as long as there is an illegal gang-related criminal element intent on carrying it out.
While researching this story, I spotted the following video shared last Friday -- just one day before the ambush and shooting that prompted the plot to kill Bovino.
Check out this clip shared by a noted account covering border and immigration issues.
That's Cmdr. Bovino, right in the middle of the melee with masked-up demonstrators, leading his men from the front:

Cmdr. Bovino addressed the threat to his own life last night following Martinez' arrest.
Though he expects more of these incidents, he also said he expects a surprising change to happen -- more cooperation from Chicago Police going forward.
Check out this clip with his comments last night on Fox News, shared by Homeland Security on X:
Here's the full screen version of that clip for convenience:Depraved individuals – who do not value human life and threaten law enforcement – do NOT belong in this country.

As Bovino said in that clip -- what happens between the time these criminal elements actually capture a federal agent, and ultimately kill them?Depraved individuals – who do not value human life and threaten law enforcement – do NOT belong in this country.

That's the stuff of nightmares.
That's the sort of thing that I've seen firsthand in places like Kosovo, Albania, and parts of Africa.
But it's ALSO the sort of thing that happens all the time -- every day -- beyond our southern border in places like Mexico, Venezuela, and others.
The influx of illegals welcomed into the United States over the last few years under the Biden Administration brings with it exactly that degree of chaos and evil.
What more evidence must anyone require in order to know the righteous need to RID this country of those who broke the law to begin with to enter the country under the complicit eye of failed Democrat leadership?
If bounties on the leadership of federal law enforcement becoming NORMAL isn't enough... then "enough" doesn't exist.
It's time to finish the mission, and fix what the Biden Administration intentionally broke.
